Ingredients:
6 dry red chilies
1 tbsp coriander seeds
A pinch of methi seeds
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 medium-sized onion
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 small bowl of tamarind
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup water
2 slit green chilies
Salt (as per taste)
1 cup coconut milk
500g cut mackerel
Water (as needed for gravy consistency)
Instructions:
In a pan, dry roast the dry red chilies, coriander seeds, methi seeds, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds for 4 minutes. Set aside to cool.
In a grinder jar, combine the cooled spices, medium-sized onion, ginger-garlic paste, tamarind, turmeric powder, and 1 cup of water. Grind into a smooth paste.
In a pan, add the ground ingredients, two slit green chilies, salt, and 1 cup of coconut milk. Stir well.
Add water as needed for the desired gravy consistency. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
Add 500g cut mackerel to the dish. Cover with a lid and let it cook for 8 minutes on medium flame.
After 8 minutes, remove the lid, and your delicious dish is ready to be served. Enjoy!
