Grew up in Western NY, early 80’s, trapping muskrats, coon and whatever happened by. Couldn’t afford waders much less insulated ones. Usually wore snow mobile boots with felt liners. Fell through ice so much it was a normal occurrence. Walked home after finishing the line with water squirting between my toes. To this day, the toes on my right foot hurt when they get cold. Brings back a lot of memories though.

Great job on beaver. That would suck having to give an otter up. We have a no limit on otter and bobcats. I had 5 330 dukes. That was old and weak springs. I replaced the springs and triggers. Like new traps now. I like the belisle 220 for otters.

wide open water yes I could understand. The tunnel under the bridge it tiny, crossing water under that should be considered endangering peoples lives they could easily hit the wall or anything else and someone would have to go rescue him and get them to a hospital.

I dont want to be rude & judgemental on Xmas day, but you hit the nail on the head about how stupid some people are. This blizzard was predicted here in W.N.Y. for impact mid day friday dec 23rd a week or more in advance. It was 40° & rained for several days ahead of its arrival. Anyone one who has lived or lives in this area for just 5 yrs or so knows just how wicked the weather can get here & that it's usually way worse some where around here locally than they ever called for and on a routine basis. I watched wall to wall traffic all day friday as it hit mid day with hurricane force winds, -20°predicted & fully knowing 80mph gust completely possible to reoccur here which means -36°f if the actual temp is 0°. No one in there right mind should have been on the flash freeze roads, with winds strong enough to blow empty parked cars across iced over parking lots with the parking brakes set? People think I bullshit them when I tell them what I've seen here in 57 yrs. They are finding froze dead people in stranded cars, bodies frozen in snow banks that tried to walk when out of gas or stuck. I see 13 to 17 dead in buffalo ,Niagara area alone. The fire trucks were snowed & drifted in? Wtf? There were few places with any emergency services available. We have all been through this before. I'm not surprized if the frozen dead body count reaches 20 by monday night. I watched wall to wall traffic,80 mph gusts ,& -30° temps 1 hr after it hit. How stupid, foolish & sad for a holiday season. No kidding
