Surely she would have learnt her lesson the first time if her intent was to really kill Max after helping the little man escape. He also isn’t too far from the plane guy’s cave house which no doubt would be stocked with supplies or even go back to the lost kids tribe to rest up before moving on.

I can see one of the slave girls had a thing on Max, just realized she's tagged along most of the time and even helped Max by jumping at the back of the henchman, distracting him and helping Max up after that. Well who doesn't? What a hottie Mel was!

There is zero CGI in this movie. CGI in these days looked worse than pacman graphics at the local 1980's arcade and would have cost half the budget of the movie (which is Australian) and looked awful. T2 and Jurassic Park (early/mid 90's) were the first big budget live action films to use small amounts of CGI effectively in a real world setting and not take one out of the film (thank god we never saw live action Tron bikes). Good producers and filmmakers kept well away from CGI until the early 2000's and even then 90% of it still looked like a steaming pixelated cow pat. Just look at the cartoonish LOTR films (I'm a NZ'er...I have permission from the govt to say that).

thunderdome had a real whimsical quality about it and strong presence of the aunty entity character, but i feel like thematically it jumped the shark. also, max never truly settles down, he ends up in the same position in max max 2, he'll forever be wandering the desert as a mercenary. instead of fury road they should have made a conclusion to the mad max story.

He was the brains in how to make methane, among getting the furnaces, boilers and steam turbines to turn generators. Just an opinion it probably was his idea of the outpost but take the character of Tina Turner and it turned into something of a sleeze town. He had Blaster to help protect him and most likely Master cared for him, he had Down Syndrome. Now any provoking of Master and he cuts the steam cutting power. Folks above get extremely weary and scared probably reminding of them of the collapse of society, then to nuclear war in their recent past. Master is in a sense stuck as a slave because he knows how to do these things, and the more you know the more no one is going to let you out of their sight.

My guess is Auntie founded Bartertown and Master was there at the start or slightly after, offering up his valuable technical know how. I also wouldn’t say Bartertown is sleazy. It’s a post-apocalyptic settlement at a time when the basic idea of society is just coming back. The civilians there are basically wastelanders. The things that are gonna be most valuable to them are food, water, and then entertainment and sex. A place in that era is always going to be harsh and grimy. Neither Master or Auntie are really villains. They’re in a power struggle since they both need the other.

I like the movies, however the depiction of post apocalyptic life is obviously unrealistic. Here the civilians are dressed like medieval hobos wearing mixing bowls on their heads, no trace of their modern clothing exists. That wouldn’t happen if a nuclear war sufficed. If you want an accurate depiction of a post nuclear life, go watch “The Road”. Mad Max is simply a far fetched vision of a post apocalyptic world.

If anything mad max one is the film nobody really remembers. And PG rated? Ya sure? Because the scene where the boy (Finn McCool) died screaming “Help me“ in the quicksand doesn’t exactly scream Disney audience.
