@@MADEEveryday do you use the zipper foot for the entire project? and do you switch zipper foot sides when you sew each side?
@MADEEveryday
@MADEEveryday 4 жыл бұрын
@@CrazieRacie You could use the zipper foot for the entire project. But I like to switch out to my standard presser foot for the sides and bottom. Your standard foot gives you more control because it has more surface area pressing down on your fabric. But your zipper foot is nice because you can get real close to the teeth of the zipper. So they both serve a purpose. But you can always make it work with what you have!

Great Tutorial. I am new to sewing and not real sure what zippers are appropriate for the different bags. Never new there were so many different ones. You explain in the simplest way keep up the great work. I think it is great that someone would take the time to make these tutorials I know that they have to be very time consuming. In my case I have begun to learn my way around my sewing machine somewhat and learning sewing terms. Think of something you have never done before itls like going from Fractions to Calculus over night with some of the tutorials I have tried to follow. I wish a beginner could sit beside someone and help break it down so true beginners understand. I think you are great well spoken and sweet. I was able to complete my first bag but had trouble with my fabric shifting hoping it will get better. Never would of thought of the word shifting if I hadn't read it before :) I would have said dang fabric keeps moving. Bless you and thank you for your hard work

Hands down - this is the best tutorial for zipper pouches! I was having trouble getting my top corners square. I tried using the "zipper tab" method but was not happy with the results. Little things like paying attention to the seam allowances and the position of the zipper foot made all the difference. I made a bunch of flat pouches, and then some with 'box bottoms'. All came out great and made great gifts. Thanks!

Once again you have done a wonderful job. I made my first pouch today based on a different tutorial I found and was so disappointed by the zipper work that I have decided to undo the entire project and re-do it. This time I am going to follow yours as it seems to be simpler, and also a lot neater in terms of execution. Thank you, a million.

@Adelyn Castro Hi there, You can add that into the side seam, with the loop facing IN to the bag when you sew....similar to the hand loop I have in my Parfait Pouch pattern here (to give you a visual idea): shop.madeeveryday.com/products/parfait-pouch

Thank you~ I just used this tutorial to make my first item with a zipper! My daughter loves it and is using it to hold her fidgets in her back pack. Sewing is addicting to me. Can't wait to try more projects.

Thank you so much for this video! I just made a sling bag for a lady and I thought I would make a zippered pouch to go with the purse. Just a little "thank you" from me to her, for asking me to make the purse for her. She's paying me for the purse, but not for the zippered pouch. It's my little gift to her. Again, thank you so much!!! I have subscribed!

These are great videos, and I've now made several of these pouches. Lovely gifts. One point to emphasize, though, is to peak inside, and really line up the zipper teeth when preparing to sew the lining and outer fabric. The rough edges can always be trimmed, but if those zipper teeth aren't lined up properly, the zipper will be wonky. Took me several pouches to figure this out. Thanks!

THANK YOU for explaining what others do not. Which way to face the zipper teeth when sewing all the sides together. I have watched lots of bag tutorials and you are the first. Another thing no one ever points out is exactly where to line up the zipper ends in relation to the bag opening. Mine always end up too far in either direction. None of this is obvious to those of us who don’t have experience with zips. Great tutorial. Thank you so much. I will now go finish this bag I have dismantled four times and hopefully do it right this time, thanks to you.

This is a fabulous way to construct zipper bags that has minimal thickness while sewing seams. I put layers of plastic/candy bag wrapper/stabilizer paper for the "outside" fabric. It is difficult to turn at the end, but your method is super for sewing the last line of seaming!

For the life of me, I haven't been able to understand *how* to do a zipper (and I've made full sized quilts - so NOT a total noob). I've watched videos, read "Sewing with Nancy" books, and had friends walk me thru it. After your video, I might give it another try. Thank you for this.
