Definitely one of the flagship hikes on the island, offering breathtaking scenery for the whole journey !

Hey both, beautiful shots from the off. We do love your Madeira videos!! Love the looking down into the clouds shot, just stunning. Lots of up, lots of down?…yeah, we could do the down bit, not so sure about the up. The cloud coming through the rocks is very cool. Those cloud shots are really incredible!! Sounds windy but I bet it’s amazing, really like the tunnel bit. Even though the roped off bit is pretty thin and flimsy looking, I think we’d be ok with that. It looks like a popular walk. Wow, those shots!! Those steps don’t look too much fun to be honest, we’re tired just watching it!! A gin and tonic breather, go on Shell!!!! It started off ok but there’s far too many steps for our liking, cool you got to the highest point…Rach just said I wasn’t allowed to call it a trig point cos that’s British…whatever it is, it’s cool you got there! Great drone shots as always Pete, it looks incredible. Top work Shell, 4 stone…incredible, excellent stuff. Rach actually said at the beginning of this, how fit you both look…bloody wish I could lose a quarter of that!! Toast and beer, hmmmm, huge well done though!!!! We feel like we know you both…ta ta for now!!! X….nice end clips, that lido thing or natural swimming pool bit looks very cool. Nice one both x

Ah thanks so much for these fab comments guys, always brightens our day when you two stop by😊👊. Yes lots and lots of ups and downs! This is probably the most popular alpine walk on Madeira, easy to see why, there are just stunning views every direction, watching the clouds rolling through was awesome. Although it definitely isn't one for vertigo sufferers, the path is pretty good to be honest, and it is roped off at the most exposed sections. We reckon you guys could do it👊. The endless steps were pretty hellish! Especially in the heat with some very fit German hikers behind who wanted to get past😂🙈. Ah, thanks guys, losing the weight has been a long road, and it is a constant battle, as i am a complete foodie (and also enjoy an adult beverage or two🍻😂). But, i love hiking more, so the driving force for me has been to improve my fitness, on hikes like this, it makes all the effort worth it🤩🙌. We did allow ourselves a week off the diets in Madeira though 😋. Those pools at the end blew us away, so much so we came back later in the week for a swim there😍. Well that was just absolutely amazing to watch! The start above the clouds, the incredible walk along the side of the cliffs, those jaw dropping views and the final views along the sea cliffs!! Madiera is so so beautiful!! Well done on the weight Shell, that is something we're trying to concentrate on again now. As we get older, we've slowed down a bit and the Motorhome hasn't helped as we tend to relax and not hike too far. Plus a beer or a wine every night, which isn't great. And as you say, we miss out on some good long walks if we lose fitness and that definitely isnt what we want to do. So we need to get back on it! Thanks for the inspiration. Loved the wildlife on this one, especially those Swifts - incredible footage and the slow motion was brilliant - they are really incredible birds - they literally never stop flying where Swallows will perch a bit! Sleep,eat and even mate on the wing and hardly ever touch the round in their lives!! Loved this one guys

This is probably the most popular alpine walk on Madeira, and it is easy to see why, we totally agree, the views really are stunning, what a place to spend the day 🤩⛰️🙌. Thank you so much for your kind words, it has meant a great deal to me to lose weight, with improving my fitness being the driving factor, when i am able to get out on hikes like this, it makes it all worth it🤩. Covid and lockdowns were so hard to take for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, both physically and mentally, and i think it put so many people back on their fitness journey. But going on the things we have seen you and Skye achieve, you already have a fitness level that far excels ours!👍. Hi there, Absolutely, autumn is a fantastic time of year to visit Madeira, and you have still have a good chance of clear tops and mild weather. This hike goes up to just over 6000ft, so you may need some additional layers such as a warm jacket. But the path would be fine. The only time of year that may be a problem is well into the winter (January / February). When believe it or not, there can be snow up there!
