The windows are beautiful, well worth the expense. Longevity is a word that comes to mind after watching this. Everything is beautiful, even the messy bits that you ask us to excuse, because these are all part of the journey. I love seeing glimpses along your journey and when you talk about slowing down and going with the flow this seems to bring the word longevity back to mind. Life is too short to be doing things in a rush. Go with the flow.

* IDEA * for kitchen window that overlooks driveway & car > Hang a lace, crochet, or macramé curtain to cover only the bottom half of that window. It will look lovely, vintage, allow the light to enter and cover up what isn't so pretty outside. I bet you can source out something totally lovely and maybe even make it or find a vintage one in a shop :)

I got some free flowers! thank you!! :-) Beautiful video. Your new windows look perfect and really like they were always there. It seems like you're going through some tough stuff at the moment, and it sounds like you're doing all the right things to be good to yourself. Binge watching easy tv is one of the best things to do, and taking comfort from simple things like the seasons and picking blackberries. (I also have found watching videos of cats failing to jump really helps at times like that!) Hope things get better for you soon.

I hope you’re doing okay Maddie x It was really refreshing and lovely to hear someone talk and about work and stress in a way which resonates with me. Dear Madeline I love the morning walk in that beautiful area close to your home. I’m praying that the home front gets sorted very soon and all these repairs are behind you. I would consider getting a different tap for your kitchen even though you love it. You shouldn’t be dealing with this issue. Your garden is lovely and the berries and apples look yummy too. Your windows are perfect, love the gold touches. Makes a huge difference in lighting and comfort. Have a good rest of the week and pray you get some good rest over the weekend. 😘✨💐

Wow! What a huge difference the new windows make. They're stunning. I agree, these windows look like the ones that should've been there all along. Great choice. I definitely think that the door would look better a lighter color; something at least close to the window color. It's also so very pretty with the ivy there. 😊

I love the windows! When I was a little kid, we called that kind of room a "rec room." In the 80s, it became a "family room." I think it's a great use for that space. It will allow you to get the tv out of your current living room, which seemed a bit of a challenge for furniture + tv positioning. Be well, lovely lady.

Thanks for the video Madeleine … my hubby and I fell in love with the first venue we saw too. We ended up taking it because it was all we hoped for, beautiful brickwork, open ceiling with skylights, great backdrop for the wedding ceremony and it was a restaurant so we had our wedding and reception in the same place - just adjacent rooms. We still love the venue we chose. I say go with your gut if you feel strongly about it 💗 good luck with the planning

I said something like this on the last video, but having seen more of your back yard now, I still think it would be a beautiful place to have a wedding. Think how simple the "travel" and getting ready would be. And how much you'd save. We got married in the yard of our own home - it's large, true, and there's a lovely backdrop of a wooded hillside, but we never regretted it. Had the wedding by the trees, and the reception in the back yard. Just a thought. 😃
@colorblox49423 жыл бұрын
Just go for the wedding venue when you fell in love with it. Trust your gut feeling. Maybe compare prices from other venues, but when I looked at venues, the prices evened out around the same for everything we wanted. One year in advance is not a lot of time to book a venue, even before covid. My husband and I were lucky enough to get the last free slot in 2019 - in retrospect, it was a stresser, but seeing what happened in 2020 I'm SO glad we decided fast and took it!
@bunny_02883 жыл бұрын
Wow, my husband and I were only engaged for 9 weeks and we found a beautiful venue (the courtyard of a church built in the early 1900's) two months before we wanted to get married. This was in 2010. Is it really that competitive, now? Or does it depend on where you live?
@colorblox49423 жыл бұрын

Some kind of a trellis with climbing plants on it could be pretty in the driveway to hide the car, but I'm not sure how it would look from the front! Just the flowers in the windowsill is so beautiful! I resonate w/ what you shared about slow living- it's something I was reminded of recently and realised just how far I've come from embracing slow living habits. It's hard when there's also the pressure to get my freelance work going so I won't have to forever work a 9-5 and be able to enjoy the freedom you spoke about! I resonate with much of what you said about self-inflicted pressure with your schedule. I've been researching work structure and well-being in the workplace (especially with work-from-home) through my degree - we often confuse structure and control (as opposed to support). Structure is knowing and determining expectations and adjusting with feedback - everything else is control and negatively affects well-being! Flexibility is so important for satisfying our need for autonomy, competency - and in the end - well-being. Giving yourself grace is important. Would you tolerate that type of pressure and control from a manager? Then why are you expecting positive results when you put that same pressure on yourself? Anyhow... Love from Montreal (Self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000) for those that are interested in digging deeper)

The windows look great! One small suggestion for the shed is to extend the roof out about a foot-and-a-half to two feet over the door (and window) to create an overhang. Could be nice to have on those rainy days. As for the windows and doors, I like the soft sage green with the stone. White (as shown on your mood board photos) is so stark - it doesn't compliment the warmth of the stone - but the warm white (or light cream) that you chose looks great, as does the eight-over-eight multi-panes of glass. Good choice!

The windows are beautiful! For the door I'd go a deep dark color... but I don't live in England so am not used to the house style. On that matter: are you gonna keep the spikey plant in front of the house? Definitely a play/game/gym room in the garage... or an orangerie... So many possibilities! Maybe if you have a plan of the garden with dimensions someone can come up with a solution for the car. A good brand for taps is Grohe. Hope you are recovering well and life will go smoother soon. I have a hot water tap but I went for black instead of brass as the brass all looked too shiny compared to the brass in my home. I got mine from Victoria Plum, I was going to get the same as you in black but we wanted to save some money and the hot tap from Victoria Plum was cheaper, had a longer warranty and also required the filter to be changed less which meant cheaper again. I have terrible water pressure however as I live in a 1830s converted flat and the wrong size pipes were put in the whole building, but maybe your water pressure is a little too much for the tap (which is silly they don't design for it if that's the case). Only thing is the hot tap from Victoria Plum is it's not a tap like yours.
