I don’t care that I may sound soppy, but I genuinely had a lump in my throat of complete and utter happiness for you both. I’ve enjoyed your videos for a number of years, I’ve watched you “grow” and become this strong, beautiful, inspiring woman with many important messages to share. To see you in your dream home is a joy in itself. I know you’re incredibly grateful for everything you have but Darling, it’s YOU and Alex that has made this happen. Your hard work and dedication is paying off. I’m just so happy that I’m here to see you enjoying life. I Love You both. xxx

Isn't anyone going to comment on how HUGE this place is? The house! The garden! I was shocked when M. opened the little gate and ANOTHER garden popped up. SO happy for them! Just bought the cook book. Highly recommend it. Beautifully photographed. Great recipes. Lovely people. Lots of love from Majorca.

A suggestion for a paint color for the north facing guest bedroom (if you can find it in the UK): Ibis White by Sherwin Williams. I painted my bedroom in my family home that color years ago (which is also a north facing bedroom) and it just makes the room look illuminated with a soft glow. It’s a white with very subtle peachy undertones and it almost looks like white walls being kissed by the light of the golden hour all the time. I think it’s a great warm white to use in spaces that need a little dose of sunshine.

For the TV, why not mount the TV on an arm on the wall? You can tuck it back against the wall where it is when you aren't watching it, and when you want to watch it, pull it out. Then it also doesn't dominate the room. A friend did this in a similar space and it worked great. There are some great wall mounts that extend out securely and then fold back flush against the wall.

Would you consider removing the door from the living room? I don't imagine you would ever have it closed off and you do have to work around it slightly with the furniture. I personally think that there will be plenty of room above the fireplace for the TV after it is opened up. Seems like the best placement for it as well. Excited for when renovations start! Absolutely beautiful already.

My parents cover their veg beds with fishing nets that have washed up on the beaches over the years. Worth keeping an ear out for that kind of thing after a big storm! Can drape the nets over a frame when things are growing & with empty beds, even just having the net flat to the earth deters cats because they can't dig around without getting tangled! (just to clarify, we've never actually had anything get stuck!)

It is a lovely room, but perhaps it is just too small for all 3 pieces. I would try moving the chair to another room. You might then be able to accommodate an additional ottoman, or a small backless bench under the window, or another smaller alternative for additional seating if you feel you need it.

Do a flat tv inside a thin cabinet above fireplace with a rough hewn mantel above fireplace. You could take off entrance door to livingroom so you get 3 ft more of wall space, where you could put a bookcase or a chair or table with soft lighting.
@linzertube
@linzertube 3 жыл бұрын
Did you try the tv on a bench/console or dresser to the right of the doorway? There, it would not dominate the room but still be as comfortable to view from the couches. You could keep the couches and big chair/s against the walls, for a conversation spot, with the fireplace as the focal point. In the evening, you could be lying down on your couches and chair/s for tv viewing. How about building a small 2x3 sand bed for the cats to pee and poo in, and place it just on this side of the fence so the cat won’t even bother to go to the veg beds? The garden is so lovely and seems to go on forever. The growing beds are awesome, too. I like your configuration for the patio furniture.

Congrats on the beautiful house and garden. I've used chicken wire on the garden bed (bury it down about 1/2 inch and then put seeds or starts through the holes. Cats don't like digging and getting their claws stuck in the wire. They also sell stuff specifically for this, but it doesn't always help in veg gardens.

We have same problem with cats and raised beds. If chicken wire on the gait doesn't work, I suggest making a more attractive place for the cat to go wherever you deem is a good spot. Rough up the soil in that spot to make it inviting and easy to dig, perhaps put some sand there or loose mulch. They like the raised beds because it's easy to dig in with the loose dirt. Love the new place and especially the outdoor part of it.
@mickieb946

Give your cat another fine earthed flowerbed in an out of way space. You can transfer a pooh from the garden box to give them the hint to move. Cats prefer earth over grass and will choose secluded earth over out in the open like the beds. You can plant flowers in front but leave the earth open in back. Simple cheesecloth stapled on the boxes will keep them out until you plant, they’ll stay out after the plants get larger; plant marigolds around the edges to deter both cats and bugs.

Just a thought you could put the TV on a swing arm on the wall to the left of the window have it kept to the wall when you are not watching and swing out the tv when you want to watch it. I feel like you may need an L shape configuration for your sofa so the longest sofa against the wall and one chair facing the fireplace with the door behind it you could put a small table between the sofa and chair on the corner of the L shape. Define the seating area with a rug. The only other thing is to build out a false front of the fire place where you can then set in the tv which could be lined with heat resistant panels and hidden wiring behind. A little more expensive but a cleaner finish.

I am so glad you are happy. I hope you won't cut the vines off your house. Its going to look lovely when they leaf out and bloom.. When my husband of 52 years died I had to sell our little place in the woods. It sold quickly (sadly) because it had beautiful vines on the sides and looked like a fairy house in the woods. ( moved from Britain to Canada in 1967) I later learned that the parents of the people suggested getting rid of the vines. The after pictures of our beautiful small home we called the cottage are terrible...just a house now. I wish you many, many lovely years together. Blessings. Christine.

What if you mounted the TV on the wall its current angled against and then had a mount where you could pull it out or angle it so when you're spread out in the room yall can still see it.
