Chinese was the first cuisine I learned back in 82. I’ve gotten into bad habits, like using soy all the time, I learned from you to use salt for salt, and soy for soy flavor..really cleans up the flavors! Thanks for your efforts! Now if you could make egg rolls like my childhood fave restaurant..they were huge, fat, with shredded finely dark greens, very dry, five spice flavor, never greasy..oh, miss those..I think their secret was to pre cook or stir fry all the green parts, and press all the moisture out before stuffing the egg rolls..

just recreate this dish & it was successfulll, my picky son gobble up so many of the chicken (very surprising since he doesnt usually like "white" looking meats -only likes to eat spicy red grilled or nuggets types). Daddy Lau gives very detailed instruction, THUMBS UP !!! you really helped us amateur cooks !! (im a super beginner cook by the way, only able to cook around 10 types of foods lol). Amazing how following through your instruction made me successfully made this complex looking dish, OUR FAMILY THANK YOU SO MUCH

I love trying new things and your cooking channel helps me pick out which recipes I would like to try. Will definitely make this Rainbow Chicken vegetable stir fry. Also, thanks to your mom for the subsituting mushrooms for baby corn.

I made this and while it might not meet your Dad's standard (May I call him Daddy Lau 🙂) it was so delicious if I may say so. I will be cooking this again and checking the other recipes from your dad. I love your channel, no oohs and aahs and other dramatics, but here is a man who knows his trade and imparts his knowledge in a simple manner, however he would look like he would want you to pay attention if in front of him 🙂. The conversations at the dinner table make it so complete. PS: How do you remain so slim with all the good food??

My basic stir fry I love to use a good sherry to deglaze between steps, first I’ll do onion and mushroom together over highest heat to get some brown on them and dry them out, after the chicken is done and removed, then I’ll do whatever vegetables, add chicken back in, my sauce, toss, lay broccoli over the top, cover, Steam the broccoli through, then mix and put in a serving bowl, have over rice..always having that slurry of cornstarch ready is key, or even dry if you need to absorb surprise water..love a good sherry though to add flavors, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, five spice powder, secrets to instant Chinese flavor!
