For Andy: Red is the lowest frequency visible color so the energy usage is lower. the only thing lower is infrared which is why it is used in machinery where humans don't need to see the light being emitted but light still needs to be emitted, such as in the case of some TV remotes.

Red light has another advantage: it doesn't cause human pupils to constrict, so you can use dim red lighting in a dark environment without destroying anyone's dark vision. Perfect when you want to use the bare minimum amount of lighting - and power - in an emergency.

@@Amaritudine Nothing to do with emergency scenarios or spookiness, but red light is also useful to astronomers! When in an area with low light pollution, preserving dark vision can allow you to see the dimmer stellar objects that you wouldn't be able to see normally.

But these red lamps would have almost certainly been normal incandescent bulbs with red filters, which wouldn't be saving energy, since the incandescent bulbs would be emitting full-spectrum white light before having most of it converted to (a relatively tiny amount of) heat by the filter.

KingSpook use to have a creepypasta about a realtor who would sell families a haunted house without telling them the history. The ghosts wouldn't leave until the house sold for a set price and would kill the families for not paying it. The realtor knew this and kept selling the house below what the ghosts would except as fair to keep turning a profit.

This is such a good playthrough of a great horror game, well played by Jane with 'help' from Andy (your reactions were great, really gave the message of how scary it is) and Mike (Still nothing fazes this guy, how) if you could, we would all want to see a full playthrough of this game, its so good it's terrifying. Andy seems to get engrossed in the storytelling and such, Jane straddles the line between following the plot and realizing the tropes, and Mike knows it's all in good fun...he did get a little jump out of the Conjuring House playthrough in 2018 (that hallway jumper about made Andy wet himself and Mike got spooked a little...and I'll admit to jumping myself). He's not immune to scares, he's just cognizant of the basic horror deals. Also, he could be enjoying the reactions of the others much more...which is quite valid 😆

I watched this live (at 1am - the joys of timezones) and my cat scared the hell out of me jumping on my bed while I was fully spooked. A fun stream, even where the scares were lower. I hope Andy got some sleep after this, poor bugger.

I felt so bad when this got scariest game of 2022. I have photosensitive migraines so when I tried to play this for 30 minutes, I was laid up for 2 days. So when everyone gets so hyped for it, I feel like the dog you lock in a room during a party. I just KNOW something fun is going on in there, but if you turn me loose, I'll probably hurt myself.

I like the voice acting, I think it is good for the protagonist of a horror game to actually be scared for once. He is also a 16 year old kid that doesn't know why all these horrific things are happening, and that he doesn't seem to be in control of himself.

Fair enough but P.T. and Visage especially with the demon and Lucy are way worse with the noises personally. Even if they’re definitely sometimes helpful warnings to not look behind you/go a certain way or open any of the wardrobes unless you want a nasty surprise in the room full of wardrobes

In the room with the camera, there was a four digit number lock and a four digit number on the back of the photograph. Jane never did try that. maybe there was something in the cupboard to solve the thing with the clock in that hallway. If i'd been watching live i would have been yelling in chat.

There's some good ideas in this game but also some pretty bad ones imo. For a start, an horror game without any threat of death is kinda ineffective to me, personally. Also, the inventory limit is completely useless and damages the experience more than it enhances it. I mean, inventory limits are mostly annoying in games, but in a lot of them, I can see their purpose. If you've got ammo and consumables, it forces you to be frugal and engage with enemies more often but in a game that has neither consumables nor combat it does nothing exept wasting the player's time. And, of course, the character speak way too much. Kinda break the athmosphere the game is trying to establish.
