After 28 years of marriage my husband passed on Valentines day this year, This was always our tune and played it at his funeral, He loved me always like I was his queen, and even though my tears flow when your song starts to play by the end I am smiling and remembering the way he always looked at me and sang the words while we danced away, Thank you Madness for giving me a banging tune to remember my Gary

the strings at 2:38 are divinely inspired. they seem to yearn and swell as the song builds, mirroring the lyrics. given that most of the strings for this song are plucked sticatto notes, the contrast of the drawn out sliding tonges really helps add to the impact of this moment, and differentiates it from the rest of the song. its as if they where played on his very own heartstrings

For some reason I just had to hear House of Fun last week and I got pulled into a Madness video vortex. Now I'm listening to this and various others at least once per day.

I never thought I'd miss you Half as much as I do And I never thought I'd feel this way The way I feel About you As soon as I wake up Every night, every day I know that it's you I need To take the blues away It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love Nothing more, nothing less Love is the best How can it be that we can Say so much without words? Bless you and bless me Bless the bees And the birds I've got to be near you Every night, every day I couldn't be happy Any other way It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love Nothing more, nothing less Love is the best As soon as I wake up Every night, every day I know that it's you I need To take the blues away It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love It must be love, love, love

I tell ya a little secret....I saw Madness live November 2019 at The House of Fun weekend and when they started to play this song I was hit with so much emotional nostalgia it was incredible, I cried. This band means so much to me, their music will never get old and I will never stop playing it, simply brilliant. Thank you for the Music and all my amazing memories. I remember this song well because a schoolmate was a junior sound engineer at the studio and I sat in. I totally missed it at the time that the song is about loss. Good to know that you learn as you get older.

Absolutely brilliant song!! Although it’s not an original, this Madness version is great!! Suggs was the ideal band front man. He really looked the part and great charisma. One of my favourite songs of the 1980’s.

@@Just_another_Euro_dude The original is by Labi Siffre, who wrote and composed the song, which was released in 1971, reaching No 14 in the UK charts. He is also known for "(Something Inside) So Strong" , among others
