I always think of Ian Dury songs as very "London" and I think it takes a Londoner like Suggs to capture the nuance. I speak as a hairy arsed northerner..from a respectable distance.

They switched up sax players on the line a few times, but they were all extraordinary. Correct me if I wrong. Atzmon was original player on New Boots LP, I think this is Davey Payne (not certain) believe the had at least two alternate sax players during their run, all superb performers.

It's not a pissing contest! it was a tribute - and great to see so much love to Ian from so many varied artists - Robbie Williams included.
@TheAdyyoung20003 жыл бұрын
It's a tribute and a personal one at that. Robbie became a friend of Ian Dury before he died, having met doing unicef charity stuff I believe. There a number of subtle Ian Dury lyrical refrences in Robbie' songs from around that time, so it's fairly clear that Ian was also someone Robbie respected and admired. So for that reason he was the RIGHT choice.
