At some point, you should react to the video for "Ghosttown" from the Rebel Heart album. A great "recent-era" Madonna song and video, that is among her best. It's a shame that she no longer gets the radio play and video attention that she still deserves because the industry treats her and many other living legends like Janet as too "old" to be popular.

@@NocturneSoul Vogue took a month to fully choreograph during tour rehearsals and should be duly honored. Justify My Love (Remix) is an ode to Ball culture as well as a fashion extravaganza. Express Yourself features her descending on a disco ball, a harbinger of her Confessions Tour opening. Deeper and Deeper (Remix) has yet to be outdone by later tour showings. Yes, the Girlie Show is great because of the balance between spectacle-laden set pieces and character driven performances. No doubt you forgot to add I'm Going Bananas. Her growls elevated that performance above the studio version.

Reaction to Madonna - Sooner or Later (Oscar 1991) ΙS AMAZING
@roger12964 жыл бұрын
That was fun to watch with you two...little bit of history behind the release of this song & it’s video. Madonna, at that time, had not recorded an album in like 10+ years. Madonna started taking vocal lessons in preparation for her role in Evita (1996), which is why critics say this was her best vocal performance on an album ever. She would also give birth to her daughter, Lourdes, later in 1996. These events inspired a period of introspection. So, this was a highly anticipated album. When the video premiered on MTV, critics went crazy over it! Then the album was released and the critics went crazy over it! To this day, the “Ray of Light” album is her most critically acclaimed album of her career, and it earned her 4 Grammy wins for the first time, on any previous albums. For a long time, Madonna was not given the credit where credit is due for her artistic and musical talents, especially when it came to lyrics. As a lyricist, she is likely one of the best in the music industry. Teaming up with William Orbit, one of the MOST popular electronic music producers/performers in the industry still to this very day, was likely the best decision she ever made when recording/writing/producing the “Ray of Light” album. After the success of this album, she continued to collaborate with William Orbit on her next studio album release which was the “Music” album. Once again, another massive hit for Madonna. To me, I feel the time she spent with William Orbit, is and will ALWAYS be the best years of her musical career. In my nighttime prayers, I even pray Madonna & William team up again...kidding, but seriously, I really wish she would team up with him again. William Orbit is a GENIUS, and Madonna is a genius gifted writer...the two of them together are like chocolate & peanut butter, they always go great together!

The whole Ray of Light album is fabulous and she worked with William Orbit on the sound, which gives it the trance vibe. This was a big comeback album for her as Bedtime stories was criminally underrated at the time. It was also her first album after becoming a mother and getting involved with Eastern Mysticism and Kabbalah, which also heavily influenced the album. As a girl at Uni in 1998 this album came out at a really difficult time in my life and became a sort of anthem for me especially Frozen and Power of Goodbye. Still to date Ray of Light is my fav of her albums, but she’s done so many great albums and I love her advocacy for minorities and willingness to court controversy over what she feels is right and her commitment to living the way she feels she wants to regardless of society’s disapproval so long as she is doing no harm.

Meaning of Video Frozen (the video must be seen from its end towards its begining): 1 Madonna represents a gothic witch. She plays the part of Hecate, Godess Witch who represents the 3 forms or 3 faces of the Moon. 2 Frozen, in its video and its lyrics, talks about Lucifer's desperation of failing to capture human beings and lead them to his inferno. This is what this song is about. That's why it says: 'Give yourself to me' 3 Frozen Video is referring to a witch who goes to the desert to ask Satan for her illumination and to be lifted to a higher level. That's why she invokes Lucifer during the night. 4 She shows a black stone hanging from her neck: Saturn Stone, related to Capricorn Constellation, or Baphomet's. 5 She moves showing the sign of Mudra in her hands all the time, which represents the 666 sign or sign of Initiation. She does this to open a connection door with the pagan gods. 6 The 3 Madonnas represent a Triple Godess: Artemisa, Selene and Lilith, who is an important character in Ocultism or Esoterism. 7 Madonna levitates as the strength of the dark ritual grows. 8 As the door of hell opens, Satan, in the form of a dog, appears after Madonna's calling. 9 Madonna gives away her blood in the ritual. This is called 'Red Magic', in which blood is used to strengthen the power of the ritual. 10 Once the ritual is finished and the daylight comes, Madonna has already reached the illumination.

@christianbolze70924 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, just wanna tell you some little things about the song. Madonna said herself that this song was a big change for her in terms of her music. It deals with a person, who is emotionally "frozen" and not able to get back or forth. Madonna also gave birth to her daughter and became interested in mysticism, the Kaballah and other eastern ideas of mystery. I would say that it always will remain as one of the big defining moments for her. The three Madonnas could be a reference to the holy number of three / the trinity (in many religions, trinities are found - and if i remember correctly, all of them are female, except for christianity). I think its great you go on a search for the roots of Madonna and experience her music. But i dont if its helpful if you use terms that are not in line with that specific time. "Emo" (as we understand it today as a visual appearance) for example was not even a thing at that time. I think its absolutely great that you two are looking into Madonna and her history, but please inform yourself beforehand about the songs you are viewing and giving reactions to as a kind gesture to the artist.
