It would've made much more sense if it wasn't a parole as much as it was Blonsky's first proper trial since his rampage in Incredible Hulk. According to the Sokovia Accords, anyone with enhanced powers can be detained indefinitely without trial. Episode 7 revealed in a throwaway line that the Accords were repealed, so Abomination would have to be tried for his crimes in order to remain imprisoned. If that little bit of world building had been established from the get-go, it would've made the premise of the show (and the opening arc) much more interesting.

I guess that could still be the case? They never show camera footage of like an empty cell exactly. They didn't even know he left until that phone footage leaked, so obviously Wong did something to mask Abominations absence. Either an illusion or he messed with the cameras.

The glorification of miminal effort from the majority of MCU fans is a big contributing factor in the lack of care for characters.

Honestly Wong just appears to be a lazy replacement for Stan Lee cameos. Wong can just show up wherever he wants and do whatever he wants during those cameos because...Sorcerer Supreme. And getting Benedict Wong is a heck of a lot cheaper than getting Benedict Cumberbatch for cameos. And it's a shame. Stan Lee cameos could be silly things. But Wong is an identified character within that universe. If he shows up for a stupid fight with Abomination or becomes a fugitive of the USA in She-Hulk, there are supposed to be consequences for that. And that is supposed to impact who is character is and his arc. But instead they just don't care, use him in the same "this seems like a funny idea" way and further demolishes Wong. At this point we really don't understand him at all anymore. The guy he was in Doctor Strange 1 and the guy he is after She-Hulk aren't remotely the same character.

One thing that stuck out to me is how the job of a sorcerer Supreme is to "protect the time stone." That kinda raises the question of why a sorcerer Supreme is even needed anymore. In multiverse of madness, they imply it's basically their job to be a leader, but Dr. Strange just leads people anyway. So why don't they just make him sorcerer Supreme too. Is there a limit to how many leaders they can have?
@it66472 жыл бұрын
I think saying that the job of a sorcerer supreme is to protect the time stone doesn't in any way imply that that's their only job now we already know that sorcerer's protect reality that'd mean that the sorcerer supreme would just be the leader of those that protect reality I also think that it's well within Wong's powers to circumvent cameras in abomination's prison(though that's only a conjecture since we don't see it) i also think that Strange's comment on how Wong became sorcerer supreme on a technicality is not mutually exclusive with Wong's comments on him training for it it's like when Naruto became a Hokage, he was allowed to be one because he was just that good, but he was still made to study as a part of the process His problems stem from him imposing some kind of mutually exclusive presuppositions that needn't be true or haven't been shown to be true He later on goes to point out that Wong was training after Strange had already returned This once again shows that we just don't know what the process of becoming a Sorcerer supreme is, but that also means that he doesn't know either Strange was the Chosen One according to the Ancient One, that is enough reason for Strange to become the sorcerer supreme (along with his skills that outclass Wong) But at the same time, he's the Sorcerer supreme that sacrificed the time stone We don't really know the process of choosing a sorcerer supreme, or what happens when one gets blipped, or one loses the time stone and then come back Also, him talking about Wong's punches is just how sparring partners talk it's like DBZ characters fighting for a day and then reflecting over their fight Abomination is for helping Wong, he does it by sparring with him Also, it's perfectly reasonable that Wong would fight non mystical beings he'll fight those that he'll realistically encounter in a fight, that includes someone like Abomination once again, he presupposes that all Wong did in 5 years of blip is to fight Abomination, which is a completely baseless statement Wong is also earning money in this way, so him not fighting in a more secluded place makes sense, because he still needs money to survive(we have also been shown that Wong has some possible money problems in Infinity War) As for why didn't Blonsky tell anyone? it's anyone's best guess considering that Blonsky doesn't seem to be the brightest tool in the shed Now don't know about shadow dimension but what he showed us was the dark dimension And the mirror dimension isn't even bad, it's just the mirror of our own dimension it's a perfectly safe place to keep Blonsky The part of him being a fugitive is something I can totally get behind though once again, engaging in mystic arts is a messy business with the only consolation being the person that's doing the messing around(whether they're good or evil)

Everyone in the show feels like a caricature designed solely for the plot and to revolve around Jen. Continuity, characterization, pacing, all of it is all over the place. It’s like they’re trying to be both an episodic weekly shenanigans type of show while also having an overarching plot regarding Jen’s blood, and neither are good. The episodic stuff makes no sense, and the overarching plot stuff is so underdeveloped we don’t care about it. Also, why the hell does Wong need to sue Donny Blaze at all? Shouldn’t he be able to just portal to him, take the sling ring, and just leave? All Blaze seems to be able to do is make portals with the sling ring, so take that away and he’s just a guy. If he wanted to go the extra mile, he could use magic to scare Blaze into never using real magic again. All the legal stuff makes absolutely no sense. Wong shouldn’t be able to just portal a random civilian into the courtroom and have her give a statement while clearly intoxicated. The “writers” either focus too much on being a “comedy” that they forget about the actual story, or they know they suck at writing the story and hope the “comedy” will save it by acting like it’s “changing up the marvel formula” The only realistic legal scene was with Matt Murdock. He walked in, made a charming joke, and dismantled Jen’s entire case within 3 minutes. Because Jen really sucks at being a lawyer, yet the show keeps acting like she’s incredible at it while she stumbles over her arguments, does absolutely no research into the case itself and seems to be making everything up as she goes along

10:48 that isn't the Shadow Dimension, that's the Dark Dimension. The Shadow Dimension is where the Necrosword was forged and home to the Shadow Monsters conjured by it, and this is the first time it's been mentioned in the MCU as an easter egg (though i'm sure we'll see more of it eventually). I understand the confusion though

@@RighteousBoone the Shadow Dimension isn't mentioned, referenced, or shown in thor love and thunder. She-Hulk is the first time it's appeared at all in the MCU; i think you're thinking about the Shadow Realm, where Gorr kept the children captive. the Shadow Realm is a realm like Asgard, but not one of the Nine Realms, just a barren planet devoid of life, colour, and light. While it is possible the Shadow Realm is the MCU's version of the Shadow Dimension, it's very unlikely as they fit very different descriptions, the Shadow Dimension is mentioned by name in She-Hulk while the Shadow Realm is only ever referred to as that, and the Shadow Dimension being (obviously) another dimension like the Dark Dimension while the Shadow Realm is an area or planet in space like all the other realms. Again, easy to see the confusion, there's way too much going on in Marvel lol

It is weird they chose to make the fight apart of Wong’s training when there was a pretty obvious continuation. Wong, knowing Earth needs mighty heroes and being the sorcerer supreme who is supposed to be a morally righteous figure to at least some extent, decides to train and rehabilitate Abomination so he can fight for good or at the very least be normalised to society. The fight in the cage could have been Wong giving him some much needed space outside his confined cell and a lesson of some kind in self-control as Abomination is told to hold his punches, something he will probably need to do if he becomes a hero, protect himself in self-defence or even just decides to protect someone on a whim in his crime ridden world. This would add some character development to Abomination and help establish why Wong DESERVES to keep the title of sorcerer supreme despite being weaker than Dr Strange

To play devil’s advocate. The technicality Strange is referring to could be that Wong was earth’s top sorcerer during the blip, while Strange was dust, without officially taking that title from Strange. Once Strange returned, he has technically been an “inactive” Sorcerer supreme for 5 years, thus there was a strong case to be made that Wong should now be Sorcerer supreme instead of Steven. As a result Wong starts training to become Sorcerer supreme, leading to the cage fight in Shang-Chi and him officially being Sorcerer supreme by No way home. I don’t at all think this is a good explanation, if Wong were to take Steven’s title is should have happened automatically or at least soon after the blip started but again, this is just me playing devil’s advocate.

And wong saw him manipulate time at that fight, so Strange probably told Wong "hey I kinda was stuck in a time loop until dormamu gave up. I've become way better than I was at the start." My gripe with Wong is his caricaturizing. In Dr. Strange, he was this stoic library guardian, with the one gag showing that he's listening to modern music to show he has this other lighter side to him. They took this gag and ran with it harder than the Olympic torch runner. From that point on, they kept making him goofier and goofier, less respectable and more rash and brash. The arena fight is just a wrestling gig. Like those WWE matches, both sides are in on it for the show and for the money. His excuse of having a worthy opponent to get his title? That's a lie. Because he doesn't care, he'll just bullshit his way to diffuse the situation. He doesn't care about Abomination's imprisonment as that's beneath him, and he only returns him because Emil shows some responsibility for his actions.

The idea of Wong making friends with Abomination is the sort of thing which sounds really cool, *in concept.* Like, give me a buddy cop movie where Wong **somehow** redeems Abomination, and I'd appreciate the creativity of the premise, if nothing else. You could do a whole weird story where maybe Wong needs to prevent someone else from obtaining Abomination's blood for some evil arcane ritual. I dunno. Something. Instead, the story treats it as just a bland reference along the line of, "Hey, you remember these people? Remember them? Don't you like it when you remember things?"

If there was a simple throwaway line from Wong or Blonsky saying "Colonel Ross wanted to ensure I was ready to be reintroduced to the civilian population", and how that match in the club was a test for him, it would've made infinitely more sense. Wong, as Sorcerer Supreme, can perform such a test without needing to get the government or parole board involved, and, normally, it'd be a simple procedure. Get him out, do the fight, then send him back. Wow, an idea I came up with in 30 seconds was better than what a team of writers could come up with
