It was the month of MAYfex. I thought Nightwing and Magneto were great, but this is even better. The future looks bright for us collectors with an incredible catalogue of larger characters to choose from.

Agreed 100%! Initially I was only going to get DC figs from them... I actually only have Psylocke and a couple Spiderman figs from them, as I feel like Marvel Legends has my Marvel needs covered pretty well, but now I'm thinking of backtracking and grabbing some more of their Marvel offerings. I did pre-order Thor, but I skipped Wolvie, Mags, Storm, Gambit, Jean and Cyclops... (I think that's all of them besides the Spiderverse figs?) Oh yeah and Iron Man...

@@datamag2018 I'm hoping Thor uses the same basic body mould as Steel as the generic Jim Lee body is a bit too small, but it doesn't look likely, unfortunately. The X-Force Wolverine is the best of their three. The newer, squatter body mould, a few paint issues on the heads, but they're a great selection. X-Force Deadpool is one of my faves. Perfect representation of the artwork, accurate body mould and great heads. Both the classic and AOA Magneto are great, just wished they had a regular helmeted head. Storm is beautiful, but has limited articulation and parts come off easily. Jean is underwhelming. Doesn't include a ponytail, Cerebro or even a telekinesis head. The blue and yellow Cyclops gets a bad wrap, but I think it is very accurate to the artwork; Jim Lee drew him that muscular and with the belt just below his middle abs. The sloppy yellow paint is a minus. The X-Force Cyclops is terrible, no improvements on a 3 year old original, with messy paint apps and a loose left leg on mine that makes him hard to stand. Gambit though, is amazing. Most detailed and realistic looking faces out of all of them, with great hair sculpt. The coat is a little big, but very cool to mess around with and pose. Great selection of charge effects. And the paint and colour are magnificent. One of my favourites of the *90* Mafex figs I own. A true 5 ⭐ fig.

@@datamag2018 But my biggest request is for more Marvel villains. Especially a Romita Sr. classic Doctor Doom. As Mafex have shown they know how to get the right metal armour paint colour look for their figs and this would be a great choice. But my absolute dream though, now they are making larger sculpts with this Steel and the upcoming Bane, would be a Jim Lee/Fox Cartoon/Capcom 90's Apocalypse, with multiple arm attachments. That would make my head explode. 🤯

@@cookedit Awesome info on those other figs, thanks a ton for that! I will now have a better idea as to which ones are worth backtracking on and hunting down. Appreciate you my guy!

Cool review! This Steel is my Figure of the Year candidate.

Yeah I was impressed with the looks of it when it was revealed, but in hand it's even more impressive. Mafex always delivers on articulation and looks but damn, they really put some love into this guy. The imposing size and the solid feel of him is astounding. The accessories are also great (unmasked head aside). Thanks for having a look!

This is a really beautiful figure. This reminds me of Kenner’s Steel figure when I was a little kid. It’s such a peculiar, iconic look. Maybe I’ll get it if it’s still in stock a couple months from now. I do want McFarlane’s DC Multiverse Steel that they teased a couple months ago. Still waiting for that to go up even for preorder.

Holy hell that's terrible!! I know Mafex has had a reputation for weird random QC issues before. I've been lucky, but I know it's a thing... Hopefully you can get a replacement or replacement piece, because the figure is magnificent, unbroken... Thanks for watching!

@@datamag2018 Unfortunately nin nin would not help me they wanted to make a case against the carrier. it was not them, it was a QC issue. nin will send replacement parts. I did use a peg from a Superman figure. Hopefully as bad that figure was that peg will not break.
