I’m rather glad this figure isn’t very huge and doesn’t have the long tongue. I was getting kinda tired of Venom figures having over exaggerated features. I know it all depends on the artist, and which form is more popular, but personally, I’m really digging this choice of design for Venom.

Actually in 1989 and 1990 Venom was around the same height as Spider-Man but just more muscular, this figure is very accurate to the first appearance version of him

Uhm no, this figure is based of off nothing but McFarlane's art. That's also the reason why the figure doesn't have a headsculpt with his tongue all out. But still, its unfortunate that he lacks that headsculpt and he is quite small.

This is the Venom figure I have been waiting for! Because when it came to most Venom figures, I wasn’t exactly satisfied with them. But now that we have this, i think my search is over. Finally over. Not only is this Venom design pedi after the classic Todd McFarlane Venom, but we get a lot of accessories with this guy. The extra hands, the webs, the extra feet, the extra heads, and of course...we finally get a perfect Eddie Brock head! Normally, they’re either oversized or look like one of Jeff Dunham’s puppets, but we finally get a normal looking and normal sized head. By the way, I’m really glad that we don’t get a long tongue with this figure. In fact, I’m glad this Venom figure doesn’t have any over exaggerated features, such as roid rage musculature and that long as Hell tongue. We finally get a classic Venom figure, for once. And that is a win in my book.

@@ShartimusPrime Shartimus you have to try this custom, crack a classic venom (the one with the button on his back), heat up the select venom legs and pop them out and replace them with the classic venom legs, the pegs will fit perfectly. Nothing else to do, this a custom that fools proof. Trust me, best Venom figure ever. Way better-looking legs and range.

I had that neck peg problem with the Mafex Comic Spidey. My solution for that was to heat it up to remove it, then attach it the other way (so now the ball that was going into the head is going into the neck itself) I guess that side was slightly bigger because now it's stuck to the neck the way it should be and I can swap the masked heads with no problems. Maybe this trick will also work with the Venom (I haven't gotten mine yet)

Most of your disappointments are my highlights. I love the first appearance Venom without the tongue or the tendrils. Early Venom wasn't too much larger than Spidey either. He was just a buffer, evil Spider-Man.

I'm really loving mine. Size isn't a big deal he's great guys.. granted I'm an oldie at 36 years old but this figure with Mafex Spidey is excellent. Poses too damn good. Stronger magnets for certain. no tongue is no biggie, eh. But guys this is it for a first appearance version. This figure is the tops. Other than that no QC issues for mine. Just awesome.

There is no head with the tongue sticking out because this design is the original Macfarlane Venom, before Mark Bagleys design added the tongue. It would not be proper or canon to have a tongue-out head with the macfarlane original design.
