I just read My Year of Rest and Relaxation and personally really enjoyed it - I loved the unlikeable narrator I think you just have to see it as what it is - a satirical/ironic depiction of a rich girl with depression I didn’t personally love the ending but overall 4.5⭐️ Hope you like it, good luck with your reading this term 💚

Ahh, I keep getting disappointed with the book club winners. Last time A Fate Inked in Blood was the one finalist I had zero interest in, and this time, again, the one choice I absolutely don't want to read (Evocation) wins again! 😅 I will probably lurk in the discussion a bit anyway. I really enjoyed My Year of Rest and Relaxation, which feels weird to say because it’s not really an enjoyable premise, but it is certainly interesting. It’s one of those books that feels so full of drama that you just can’t help reading to find out more. I’ve got my TBR ready and I’m super excited!

Like many others I wanted to say thank you for creating this amazing world and readathon. I’ll be participating for the first time 😊 I’ve been struggling hard with a severe burnout since beginning of July, and creating a character, choosing a guild and calling and now creating a TBR has been the first thing that’s gotten me truly excited in 2 months. So thank you for that! I usually read only 1 or 2 books per month, so we’ll see if I succeed in tackling 6! 🫣

Omg 5 star prediction was so hard for me too! I ended up going with the next book in a series too. The 1st book in the series was a 5 star, the 2nd was only a 4 star though. I have high hopes for the 3rd book, but I'm not sure. My biggest problem is the books that end up being 5 star for me I never see coming! Like the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue!

I recently read Evocation. I really loved it and it was an excellent read. I would do this readathon if I didn't absolutely suck at readathons and if I wasn't reading a dozen books at the moment. I also did pick which one I would do this time (in the past I chose necromancer and wild shape druid) which was the arcane/illusionist rogue and I will be honest I would struggle with these prompts.

I was already thinking that it would be funny to do a book from the Tarot Sequence and I ended up picking The Sun tarot and just laughed, the first book in that series is called "The Last Sun". Too spooky. Guess it was meant to be. I really hope I make it though all my books. I haven't been this excited to read in so long.

I'm planning to read Sword of Kaigen because it got picked up for a Wraithmarked special edition along with still being self published. If you read fantasy and haven't read Riyria Revelations it's one of my absolute favorites. A couple of Olivie Blake's standalones were also self published before being picked up by Tor.

Hi! I'm so excited to start! I do have one question that I wasn't able to find on the G Drive Most Frequently Asked Questions page so I thought I would reach out here! I've created my character and am starting my "Novice" (1st) year and I've picked my calling. If I plan to use the same character next year for my "Apprentice" (2nd) year, should I be picking a new calling for that year? or is it more like "University" where you should keep the same calling for the 4 years your character is attending? (I know it can be my own preference but I thought I would ask just in case) Thank you!

I think if you change your calling you have to start back at novice again. So it makes sense to stick with one until you finish but there’s no rule. Some people read for 2 or 3 callings simultaneously. I read so slowly, I could never.

I struggled too, I recommend checking for things that are less obviously poisonous like ferns/lillies/grapes. Oak is toxic to cattle too so probably any book with a tree would probably work at a stretch 😂

the book club book is optional and will only get you 10 points, you could always read a couple of shorter books or manga for extra subjects instead if you want to get points quicker. I suggest you check the adventure in aeldia challenge for this year to see if you have already read 7 books that fit the prompts (you can get 10 points for each book).
