I was thinking about this ability recently. They had to remove the chance to crit cause it was too op with fsoa but I wish they added another effect that would make it more worthwhile to use against bosses. Like it could apply a debuff called molten which increases the effectiveness of debuffs against ur targets while its active. That way ud want it active even during fsoa spec and teams would coordinate using theirs so its always active against group bosses.

Im kinda suprised you missed the strongest thing about magma which makes the abil actually great. I assume you didnt know/found it to sweaty idk. Anyways, what magma actually makes great is when you use the manual target version on the ground it counts as a defensive instead of a abil. This result that you can do an (pref 2h) auto attack without losing a tick. If the target doesnt move and youre not in meta/sun, this abil is almost as good as a gconc if you do a 2h auto attack with it. Its pretty good abil only many people dont know about this or dont want to press that auto attack manually

I was wondering about this ability and it doesn't surprise me. AoE is actually pretty scarce so on some places it is a big multiplier to your average return, so it provides more coin but it also save a lots of coins, when compressing time running tasks you save on consummables but also divine charges, maybe item degradation etc... It's pretty busted. Now I don't think I'd value it over limitless wich is a cornerstone for bossing rotations, semi usefull everywhere and works on every combat style. The price of this thing will probably never go down because ppl hate running inferno.

3 months late, but I appreciate this video! Got my magma tempest just earlier on my ironman @28 hardmode kc. Also had ful book on 47th nm kc. Glad I got no dupes, but seems I was right on drop rate. I wasn't too sure how I would utilize it at first, it seemed cool but I didn't realize it worked with things like sunshine. And now knowing it procs poison and soulsplit? Shittt. It is going to help so much when I am going for constant ful book procs with blood reaver.

Problem is the ability doesn't always cast, it's hard to get it (targeted)to work with revolution.

you have to cast it on the last tick before global cooldown gets reset once you figure out the timing it is consistent would be nice to have it be queueable though

Besides before the boss spawns when do you use it for solo fights? From what I can tell you replace combust with magma if you aren’t doing any of the things that buff combusts damage. Edit or in sun because it benefits from it when combust and cblast does not?

U cant use combust before the boss spawns, u need to target it. Bleeds like combust are not boosted by sunshine either, only by metamorphisis
