Great video as always 👍 love how you show when things don't go smooth, the real life of plumber's

Hello... how's the going.. not being a pain.. only a bit of a tip use an old towel to protect radiators when you agitate ,so you save the rads from being damaged.. invest in a thermal camera 📸 , so you can see radiator ,hot and cold and spots... and it all so helps when balancing rad systems...

Just watched the video. Sweep tees in-line with the flow will allow the heat

I’d be cutting out and repipe the open vent and feed as it’s likely heavily restricted with magnatite in that area, stick a magnet on it. One pipes are a nightmare, good luck and thanks for the vid👊

They have had a combi fitted now 😅 I did take out open feed and vent when I installed new boiler and was pretty clear which was surprising

Behind the pump between F&E and pump is the neutral point. So I’d say it’s the best place for the filter to go 👍. The boiler return is still under positive pressure

DS40 tried that? Also wouldnt a power flush with a stronger cleaner like DS40 have helped? probably was sludge on the tees or valves. bike pump and blow the blockage out with pressure may have worked.

Excellent thanks mate. Quick question where would you fit the magnacleanse on a combi if there was the same issues you had. No filter and no room to fit one.
@bluebulldog_uk Жыл бұрын
Close to the boiler as possible to be honest on the return is preferred but if it really can’t get onto it flow is better than nothing, before any branches for rads as well 👍

Hi mate. I noticed you didn't show the cold flush part. Did you link the cold main to cold feed for the mains flush. It may have heped with filing back up and avoiding the air locks.

I’m leaving cleaner in there so didn’t wanna flush it out with cold mains flush but I have gotta go back so will do cold mains flush then, hopefully it will help 👍

Top work mate I know it sounds mad but have you tried x800 it's abit more fast acting plus the vent and fill looks abit to far away from pump sometimes can be the cause of sludge keep up the good work 😎👍😎👍😎👍😎👍👍😎

Yes mate on power flush or where I can’t pre dose I find x800 works really well…it’s normally my go to but because I pre dosed I thought just adding the ADEY cleaner would be ok, I will see when I go back 👍

Common issue with Magnaclean is that the canister won't detach from the valves. If you can’t access the lid and bottom plug of canister to clean (due to being installed in limited access areas) or if one of 2 valves need replaced, you have to change the canister and both valves. The cost of replacement valves and canister exceed the cost of a completely new unit. In other words, if you can’t get into the canister in situ to clean or either of the 2 valves need replaced, you need to replace the whole unit!!!!!! Adey will not provide parts free of charge under their 10-year guarantee unless you have registered within 30 days!! Far cheaper just buying a Magblu Radmag which literally takes 2 minutes to install.So easy even the user can install it.

What I used to do was put a gate valve on the cylinder return so you can isolate it , much like a rad. Then I would remove the header tank & loop out the cold feed to the open vent with some hep & gate valve so you can flush both CF & OV biggest issue in open vent systems. I use x800 sentinel as its faster acting imo. Double dose if need be. Would of been better using a power flush machine then reverse flow it. With a one pipe system often or not when trying to flush, it bypasses the rad altogether. The connections on a one pipe tend to be sweep tees as opposed to standard tees & back in the 70's they'd use top bottom opposite on the rad connections so the flow through it would be better. Another thing that can happen is when a rad is closed it can stop the flow altogether through the system. That might be the reason why those rads don't work . One pipe systems are a nightmare and you only have to look at them for them not work 🙈 Great explanation about the maganacleanse 👍 Look forward to finding out why those rads don't work.

Boilers in the kicken😂😂😂put some silicon grease on your magnaclean spigots 🤠

think you would have had better results if you had gone for the powerflush rather than trying to lift the debris into the filter in the loft with the circulating pump and you could have reversed the flow 👍

You can only do your best given what you've got I always double dose with quality inhibitor, you can't go wrong. Sadly, back in the 60s,70s and 80's the ballvalve was often fitted in that position. The reasoning was based on the expansion tank being just that!, the water level would be set low to allow for for expansion. The ballvalve 's should have been fitted as per convention, but you can see the thinking, the water level would have been set very low.

I’ve learnt something new there with the FE level cheers mate 👍👍

With it being a one pipe system you wont get the black water you would expect from vibra cleaning the rads as the pump doesnt actualy pump through the rads it pumps round the pipe under neath. Thats my understanding of it anyway.
@bluebulldog_uk Жыл бұрын
I’ve always been taught not to flush a one pipe, you won’t get very good results but I wasn’t sure if the results on this one with the magnacleanse
@Mattj361 Жыл бұрын
@bluebulldog_uk I was always told only way to clean a one pipe was rads of and manually flush then
