Goku was willing to fight Kid Buu alone but didn't want to fight Super Buu unless he and Vegeta were fused, the same Super Buu who Gohan was decimating. That being said, Kid Buu is way more dangerous. At least with Super Buu there's partially a method to his madness.

Also, buu is one of a kind, unlike all these baddies who want to conquer the planet and dominate over the lesser life forms on it. Buu only sought to live peace eat sugary treats and maintain impeccable bodily hygiene until he got pushed to the brink of his sanity, into blind rage, unrelenting fury, and murderous rampage by a couple of lowlife criminal earthlings who thought they could do harm to someone else solely because he was funny looking, alone, and living secluded. (cause they perceived weakness but never realized they were the weak ones. )
