Augh, okay so with comments ranging from calling me a liar to comments thanking me that this worked, I feel like I need to clear the air with this video and it's purpose. 1. The "trick" absolutely does NOT work and I never advocate in the video that it does work. At 7:25 and 8:06, I even express that this trick doesn't work. 2. A few days after this was posted, there was a comprehensive datamine proving that reactions at the airport don't affect the type of island you get whatsoever. 3. I made this to serve as a "mythbuster" video. At the time it was made, there was a rumor going around that this trick worked 100% GUARANTEED. There were people confused why it wasn't working for them and I was skeptical that it even worked in the first place. So I made the video to either prove that it worked and the process or prove that it didn't work at all; in this case, the latter is true. I apologize if my intention outlined in the beginning of the video wasn't clear enough or if it was misunderstood. Despite the rumor being disproved, I'm going to keep this video up for people who may look this up in the future who are trying it to see if it works to show that there is no process or trick.

It’s not that you get a rare island every time. It’s that the percentage chance that you get one increases. I once did a comparison of 400 islands of non blushing Orville vs. 400 islands of blushing Orville and without the blush only got 24 rare islands out of 400 vs. 57 rare islands out of 400 with a blushing Orville

ive heard about the same trick but done slightly different. you walk into the airport with a tool equipped, and depending on what tool you have out will determine what rare island you get. you then use the delight reaction on orville until he blushes, wait for the action to end, and then fly to the island. ive only tried out this trick once with a shovel equipped and i got money island.

Have you tried clearing your cache for new horizons? It's in system settings way at the bottom in the format settings menu. My girlfriend and I both got the same island 5 days in a row and started digging online. Haven't found much but this, and clearing your cache. But even that didn't seem to work today but it seems to have stopped the glitch of getting the same one over and over! The one time I tried making him blush or joyful it did give us bamboo but our luck is in the negatives... good luck!

What I do: I enter the airport, and reset it until the dodo is typing on the pc. Then I don't talk to him, just applaud until he blushes, and then I talk to him during the blushing animation. My experience: 1) trash island 2) hybrid flowers island 3) nothing special 4) trash island 5) big fish island 6) trash island 7) mountain island In my opinion it's not a 100% chance of getting something good, but there is definitely something.

For the first time this evening I went to money island. I had no idea that this island existed. Did a quick search to see what I stumbled on and found that there's a "tarantula island". I got all the bells in that island & went back to my home island. I immediately bought 2 Nook Miles Tickets and went to the airport. The first ticket got me to basic island. Flew back and used my next ticket and got "tarantula island". You can get 2 rare islands in one day. I visited mine within a 2 hour play period.

My favourite of the rare islands so far has been clickbait island. One trick you can do when you get there, is to make sure you bring the bicycle with you in your inventory (careful, once there you can't buy one) and then back pedal. It only works when visitors to the island see you clearly.

After watching this video, I gave it a try. My first island was somewhat normal except it was loaded with damselflies. I decided to try it again and ended up with a tarantula island. I didn't try it a third time because I had other things to do, but it's easy enough to do the "joy" emote before going over each time. I have around 430,000 nook miles so I could do it for a long time if I wished to. Edit: Tried it today again. Got a standard item. Irregardless, it only takes a few seconds to do the joy emote before going to the island.

Thank you so much for making me aware of this!!!! This is what happened to me when trying this trick. 1st try- Nothing really happened. It was just normal with the usual fruits 2nd try- MONEY ROCK ISLAND!! It was new years eve and it literally made my day. I stayed for hours! XD 3rd try- I came to an amazing island with apples - a fruit I needed! 4th try- I came to a normal island with my usual fruits. 5th try- Same description as the 4th. So even though it isn't 100% successful, it is still worth trying. :)

This does work if you go to a few islands, but it seems it stops working or your chance goes down the more you use it. But if you log out and back in on a different day, your chances go back up. I’ve heard you can only visit a rare island once a day. For you it was money rock island. After that you got 2 uncommons, then a common. Overall that tells me it at least improves your chances of getting an uncommon or rare island!

I just started playing maybe 2weeks ago I ive only gotten the pine tree island which seems like a waste of miles orange island and bamboo island and I'm kinda bored with it so watching KZbin videos non stop to see what else I can do this was helpful I got orange island with emotions thankyou :D really hoping for cherries though

I’m so mad watching this now because I’m fairly new to acnh and I’ve gone to money rock island before and couldn’t figure out to get across the water so I left 🤣 I had no idea those were money rocks.

The trick works for me if you turn off your game then turn it back on each time you go to the airport. Every time I turn my game on and go to an island, I get a different/rare island.

Highly recommend talking first everytime followed by the reactions. So far I've gone to: Bamboo Island, Rock Money Island, and Fruit Island--consecutively. I'm going to keep doing this till I'm bored. 🤣 **yes, I read his comment about how it doesn't work, but I've gotten really lucky by doing so**

Omg!!!! I just tried this and it totally works. Not the most rare island every time but we got ALL STUFF we didn't have. Including a trip to ENDLESS SCORPION ISLAND. So many bells!!

Hey, you can get one extra money when you hit the northernmost rock before breaking it, I did that once... which was the only time I got in money rock island. There is also a gold rock island, In which you can get lots of gold there, I'm still on the search for it

On Bell island hit the blocking rock as much as you can before breaking it. It gives bells as well.

I constantly get bamboo island and I've never even heard of this trick. I haven't ever seen hybrid island or tarantula island though...
