If you ever need to adjust the height of the guides, you can unlock the guides and select the guides themselves to make them taller. So you wouldn't need a separate layer.

Great guide on how to create guides for web design, so thanks! :) although I was expecting more discussion on 'responsive' design, i.e. I was expecting a tutorial on how to create guides/grids for both mobile and desktop, which seems difficult to find out there.

Hello instead of lock / unlock your lines, you can just select a box and select same Fill color and delete, I got a shortcut on this function so it's pretty fast
