I’m pretty new to sewing and quilting and have made my first successful quilt and lots of table runners and centerpieces using your fabrics and tutorials. Those daily deals just suck me in and I just can’t seem to help myself and then I end up finding enough stuff to buy so I can get free shipping, I’d much rather get a few yards of fabric instead of paying for shipping. I bought the creative grids trim tool and can’t find a tutorial that actually goes step by step. Please can you guys do a tutorial using the trim tool for the curvy log cabin, I’d be so incredibly grateful! I can’t tell you how many hours of my time, wasted fabric and frustration I’ve had with trying to make this block and being successful. Please please please help this old lady out that just can’t wrap her head around it! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤sending love and prayers to you all 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

You are a good instructor ... I love the way you put the sides together by referring to the 'weave' and the 'long side' and always moving to the right. Makes you think and remember much better than 'and this is where you put the next strip (which is what most instructors will say). Thank you so much for this great tutorial.

Another to add to have to make. I can’t wait till Friday’s for another great idea 💡. You always make everything so easy and understandable, it’s just hard keeping up with you, as I get a idea for colors and it takes me awhile to find them, so in my sewing room I have notes of quilts to make with a color chart I want to use, my biggest problem is sometimes not writing down the quilt name and then everything is up for grabs. So now I have a legal pad and at the top I put MSQC and pause the video write the name down and size and then let my thinking 🤔 cap go. Thank you and my grandkids are very happy 😊.

I do like this design and the fabric collection you chose with which to make it is so cute! (It's just one of the more expensive ones to make, since you need 2 jelly rolls plus background. But then again, you have all those leftover sizeable strips, which would make an entire other quilt, so that's a good thing! I might just look into whether I could make it with a FQ bundle... oh, the inspiration!!). Thanks for the tutorial, Jenny and the MSQC team! ~Diana from Toronto

I purchased the two jelly rolls and have some similar white with silver dots for the background. I am pretty sure that I can get a 5 block by 5 block quilt out of this making it larger at 80 by 80 and adding a border. It just means 100 of each of the lengths instead of 80. I have also chosen the log cabin traditional idea of a red (in this case one of the more solid pinks) as the center 2 1/2 in square. Wish me luck!

I've always wanted to make a log cabin, but honestly have been intimidated by it. Love the way this one looks. I did have to watch the video twice because some things confused me. I have a question. Why can't you use the rest of the strip? Would not that eliminate the need for two rolls? I'm sure there's a reason..
@suzanner8360
@suzanner8360 6 жыл бұрын
greylady 2 I did some rough math (very rough!)...seems like using up the strips would result in roughly 64 blocks but this one is 80, I believe. 64 blocks would be 8x8 or 64x64. Just a smaller quilt is all. You would have to be careful to get the right number of each length since the leftover strip is roughly 14-15 inches long. I might try it anyway. Worst case is you know you will end up with at least 42 blocks and that would be 6x7 or 48x56’ then put a small border on if you want.

So PRETTY! Jenny, I hope you continue to make videos for MSQC for a long time to come.....sorry, but I get the feeling that MSQC is under-going some LARGE permanent changes that everyone who absolutely LOVE, LOVE,LOVES MSQC isn't going to be thrilled with, even though those of us who dislike change will have to get used to it. My reasoning for this? In the BLOCK magazine all the quilts are created by someone else....take the newest BLOCK magazine....( look at the back where the photos of the quilts that were featured in the newest Block magazine...see page 92 where is says "Sample Quilt" Enchanted by Gingiber for Moda Fabrics....and if you look at all the other pages with the photos of the quilts....nothing is said about Jenny or her children designing or assembling the quilt like in PAST BLOCK magazines. MSQC.....would you please tell me I'm wrong here....I sure hope so!
@MasonAHenry
@MasonAHenry 6 жыл бұрын
holiday 2406 "Sample Quilt" is just the line of fabric. If you look on the first page of the new BLOCK book Jenny and her children are still credited for designing, assembling and editing. No big changes to worry about 😊
@MissouriQuiltCo
@MissouriQuiltCo 6 жыл бұрын
Hello holiday2406! No need to worry, the sample quilt that is listed at the end of BLOCK Magazine is crediting the fabric collection used to create the quilt featured in the magazine. :) Jenny and her family are still very much involved with the creation of BLOCK and with Missouri Star Quilt Co. as a whole! Thank you for your note, and we hope you enjoy the River Log Cabin tutorial, and your latest issue of BLOCK! :)
