Hi. I'm going to try this using ground chicken and in my dehydrator for crispy treats. Do you think this will work?

I can't say for sure because I've never tried it. But I do think it will work.

I advise against it, Rachel. That sucker's gonna blow, burn the house down and incinerate all souls within. I'm just saying. Word to the wise. But, hey: What do I know?

The old baking pans are the best. That means they are seasoned there’s more people that have them more than you think.

Hey you. I appreciate your appreciation with regard to cats. Were it not for a cat, many times I'd've been alone. Imagine that? But sob-stories aside, the best cat treat is a hard piece of Genoa salami, cut into disks and then chopped into 1/4 inch nuggets. Can be frozen, used at leisure. I swear, it'll ruin your cat for commercial treats.

Thanks so much for the words of appreciation. And the tip on salami cat treats. I'll bet it's spot on 😉

Be careful giving a cat salami, because it contains garlic.

Deli meats are cancer causing (sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite) please do your research, thanks.

I hate to be a buzz kill but I’d be cautious about using any processed meats for my pets diet. Here’s what’s in Genoa Salami. Genoa salami typically contains pork, salt, spices, and other ingredients. The ingredients label may also include: Dextrose: A sugar that's added in small amounts Lactic acid starter culture: A culture that helps with the fermentation process Sodium nitrite: A preservative Sodium ascorbate: A form of vitamin C BHA and BHT: Preservatives that help protect the flavor Citric acid: A preservative that helps protect the flavor Flavorings: Natural or artificial flavorings Wine: A small amount of wine may be added Garlic powder: Garlic may be added for flavor

do you think i can add some fish oil without the treats being a weird clumpy mess?
@sustainableslowliving3 ай бұрын
I would think that would be fine. You could also try making them with tuna instead of adding fish oil. I believe that would work for sure.

I wish i could find a recipe with no corn meal or flour or anything, one of my cats is essentially gluten intolerant, I'm sure its still better than friskies, lol, but still
@sustainableslowliving Жыл бұрын
Maybe you could try just dehydrating chicken, liver, or beef strips and giving your cat that for a treat.
@lightpropulsionguy Жыл бұрын
Might I recommend sardines, they are natural whole fish with some really good nutrients like omega 3's for a shinier coat, they aren't processed very much at all and should be gluten free., They only thing you'll have to watch out for is the oily brands where seed oils are used.

I mentioned in the video that I would be sharing them with a friend who has a cat because I don't have one. It's been several years since I've had a feline friend. But my sister's mother-in-law and her friend from work split this batch and treated their sweet cats to them. They loved them! It felt really great to be able to pass along the love!

All those flour will cause constipation. Not healthy at all!
@sustainableslowliving3 ай бұрын
Given as a treat this will not cause constipation in cats. It is not meant to be used to make up a regular diet. Additionally, the cornmeal in the recipe is actually full of dietary fiber which is very important for cats as it regulates their bowel movements.
@SahMai3 ай бұрын
@@sustainableslowliving It is a well known fact! Cats r not made to eat that food in nature. No wonder so many animals r sick these days. And tuna is so toxic for animals and humans. Flour can be used as glue. When I was a kid we used to make flour paste to stick our kites. It acts as a glue.

@jennywitkop84676 ай бұрын
Just make some rice flour by milling rice grains in your blender or use it milled rolled oats. If you only give one or two treats a day. It's no big deal

Sorry you feel that way. I made them at the request of a friend. They are well researched. I've been a long time study of nutrition for people, plants, and animals. And I've been making my way around a kitchen since I was 7. I will soon be 60. I'm okay with the recipe. It is 100% your choice whether or not you make it for your feline.
