Great idea! You could even expand a little if it proves profitable and invite a friend that grows fruit or vegetables or flowers (something not in competition) to help draw in more people for more profit. If you wanted to that is. I wish I didn't live on the other end of the country, I'd love to come for a visit.

You may be realizing the efficiency of the on-farm store! My cousins have had a butcher shop on their farm for decades started by their grandpa and it's become a mainstay of the community. Business has been very good and sustained the family for a very long time.

You need a sign in the yard that tells what day you will be open. Whatever it might be.
@shellys76607 ай бұрын
I wonder if you'd do even better if you could set up near the road on your land. Also, you might add some vegetables or fruit like tomatoes, beans, or whatever else you grow. Another idea might be to have one day every so often where you break out a grill and say grill some of that meat with a cookout. It doesn't have to be all of the time, just once or twice a summer or something. You could advertise the event maybe with signs near your place or uptown where you can and charge so much per person. You could do chicken one time, or pork ribs (if you have that), or whatever else. This way, people get a chance to taste the meat before buying it and also gives you a chance to get to know your customers and build a little rappaport with them. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there.

HEY CHUCK AND SAUNDRA YOU CAN PUT A BOARD BEHIND YOUR FREEZERS TO HANG THE SIGNS ON! They have some that looks like barn siding, it would work, be inexpensive, and minimal labor!❤❤❤

I did the same thing last month, it was awesome and great teaching moments. Took some convincing as we have always been private at home and are not seen from the road but did better than any market in 3 hours. Love watching you all!

Don't forget to capture customer information so you can communicate your hours of operation. Chuck you can use Velcro to attach the signs to the wall. This way you can easily change signs to match your product. Also your cough still sounds pretty deep. I would double up on vitamin D3. God bless!

Great video! Love that you are always looking for improvement. A great idea to create a permanent shop on the farm, heck it good be daily that people pop in, and maybe you don’t even have to go to the market anymore.

People from town here go to the farm and get their meat. If it is not too far the farm will deliver especially to old people or handicap people.

Please take care of yourself, you have such a terrible cough. I hope when I am on the East coast this fall, I will be able to visit your farm store and see the farm in person. Glad you had a big day at the farm. May the Lord give you strength and health.

Mullein. Elderberry. Cloves. There is a nasty virus circulating the last couple months that is terrible to go deep in the lungs and takes forever to kick. God bless! I hope your farm business continues to take off. I pray your health is fully restored and safeguarded in the coming year.

Not bad for the day. I really wish I lived closer to you but Arizona is a ways from you. Right now I'm looking for a place where I can buy ground beef and it's not filled with so much fat and water. One Lb normally has a little over a 1/4 ,cup of grease and a 1/2 cup of water. I think when more people find out your sailing on the property the more you'll be making If you're able I might make a sign and display it at the Farmers market.

In Seattle many drive through coffee stands are 8x10 or smaller sheds....in my area in west virginia on farm stores are similarly rin out of medium to large sheds. I assume they do well because they have regular hours and are staffed seasonally. Consistency is key when you start operating as "brick and morter".

Magnets for your interior signs? OR ... some local or online 'artist' can make up vinyl stick on signs using their vinyl cutting machine (Cricut) - that vinyl is made to adhere to vehicle glass, doors, walls, etc. Great set up - wish we could do the same here but we r too far out - I think, not to mention our rough, dusty rock road is a big deterrent! Do think about getting insurance coverage for having trangers /customers on your property - only takes one person having an accident to take all you have. Best wishes!

Most farms out here have farm stands no one is in them they work on a trust basis put your money in a jar or a lock box or what have you I imagine they got cameras but that's how they work it here on Vancouver Island Canada BC
