For those wondering the value, if I'm not mistaken, he mentioned "28 mm - 10 karats"(purity is 10K), which means this chain is worth roughly about $33,000 - $35,000 just in Gold, as of Dec 2018. The price goes up when you add the makers fee and since this item was handmade, you can expect to pay an additional 30% to even 50% of it's value. I would say this chain would sold at a reasonable price for about $45,000 to $53,000. This chain does look great. Reminds me of the UM turnover chain.

@@callumross406 That's why he said it was 10 karat gold.... Because they add other metals to decrease the purity down to about 50% pure, and increase the hardness..... Nobody every claimed it was 24k gold.... Chains are usually made of 10k, 14k, and 18k gold. 24k (which is 99.99% pure) is too soft for jewelry and would bend to easily.

@dip30ful6 жыл бұрын
Title is not misleading. Solid gold means its not hollow gold tube doesnt matter the karat. This heavy of a chain cant be made from 18k and especially not 24k as it would deform under its it's own weight and the links would no longer move. The only gold to own to invest is 24k bullion. All others including 18k will never be worth enough to cover original cost of labor in making the jewelry. As most retailers have a 100%-400% markup. Meaning on a 10k gold chain. You wouldnt sell it for more than it cost unless gold got up over $8000 usd an ounce. Chain is still fantastic. And the craftsmanship is top notch.

What was the material you placed on the links before you filed...and is it so you can track the accuracy and eveness of the file? Awesome video

It’s called shellac, it’s used to glue the chain to the wood

@@MarvFitBikesKicks You not getting pure gold then. Just a heads up.
@MarvFitBikesKicks6 жыл бұрын
Pt0wN973b0iI I’m not sure what you mean by that. It’s a 14kt chain so no it’s not pure gold. I wouldn’t want to wear 24kt jewelry anyway as it’s not as durable as 14kt for everyday wear

99.9% of you who comment haven´t ever had a gold chain more than 20 gram. For those who have, you know that the value is correct since it´s handmade also. Price for 10K today 19-04-2019 is from $16.3 USD/gram to $17.18 USD/gram.

Yes, the 99.9% of us who have never had a gold necklace this big, are smart enough not to. The 0.1% that want this, probably have huge wheels that cost more than their car and can't afford this stupid shit. So.. where are you saying i fit in?
