it actually took me a minute to realize that im watching this channel for like 6 years, maybe more who knows, never noticed it, but almost never missed watching a new video on the day of upload, usually comes out when im having dinner so i get to watch fisherman's life and eat dinner at the same time which is honestly great. this channel also got me addicted to eating fried fish with butter on rice with avocado lol also bought the lingcod hoodie when it just came out, still use it to this day from time to time and its the only piece of merch i got from a youtuber so far.

Years ago as a boy along the coast w Dad and sisters. Along the rocks, an area where folks slipped off the rocks and drowned every year. I slipped. I remember trying to turn around and scratch a ledge. Found one feet above a rough ocean. Scared AF. Dad got two local fisherman to help. They tied their sweaters into a rope and pulled me up. Saved my life. Be safe brother while alone.

Climbing down this 50 foot cliff to fish from slippery rocks by the ocean is extremely dangerous. If he would have hit his head when he slipped, he could have easily rolled into the ocean and died. I don't think the risk is worth it, just to make a video (of course we enjoy watching, but at what cost).

I like mixing up the crab butter with garlic butter right in the shell, mix it up well so the crab butter isn't so chunky. Then use the crab shell as a bowl to dip the crab meat in.

Not worried about rebar, worry about the dirt you put it in giving way. By hammering in that second rebar you just help split the rock or dirt you put it in. Google feather and wedges thats how we split rock.

just keep checking the domoic acid hotline, they're on it. if mussels are safe, viscera of crab and lobster should be fine. tip for mussels: put them in a cooler with some cookie cooling racks or some other rack with some as clean as you can get seawater, then give them wheat bran or flour, or pretty much anything. they filter it through within a couple hours and expel their waste (sand and nasty stuff) and it makes them taste way better. I actually do the same thing with my crab although it's not necessary.

one thing i've noticed about crab butter is that it tastes better the brighter orange it is. If it's more of a darker, almost grey color then it'll be more bitter than sweet. Sorta the same way how uni works, better quality is brighter The red stuff in the upper part is mostly kelp and it's heart in the top center, close to the mouth Also with the crab bits, i know some ppl eat all of the inners but i prefer to just eat the orange

I have a tip for you. I learned a long time ago to remove the bail spring from my surf rods. You have to close it by hand, but you will save a fortune in gear. Some of the plugs I use are 20 dollars and up.
