Lovely sewing machine and overlock stitch! I have used ruffling attachments many times on different machines. The key is to A. make sure it is the right ruffler for your machine, B. it is a Singer product, not a less expensive brand, C. do not go too fast on the pedal. It feels like when you are ruffling that it is taking forever, but the machine and its timing can cause an issue either with the attachment or the machine if you go too fast. No kidding. You should be doing the Cadillac method, taking your time (like driving a Cadillac car, you don't hurry, you enjoy the ride), and literally let the machine sloooooooowly make those ruffles. And I would definitely have the timing on your sewing machine checked now that two rufflers broke on it, that can mess with the timing between the needle and the bobbin major. It may not show up immediately, but it can over time. Trust that. Ask any sewing machine repair person. Rufflers and other attachments can be hard on the sewing machine itself, especially if you go too fast on the pedal. And your petticoat is lovely.

I just think they are a better idea than tulle or other plastic based ones as you can re-starch as they start to loose poof :)

I used a couple of different types of cotton as I had some leftovers from other projects :) most of it is a blend of natural and synthetic cotton that I got from a local market and Hobbycraft. Thank you for watching the video :)

May I ask how much fabric it took to make this? It looks great.

I’m not exactly sure how much as I started with some leftover material I had and then bought another 4 metres. Sorry that’s not very helpful.
