@@Loepsie definitely. I made it without measuring and ended up a bit tight in the bust so definitely measure when you get your hands on the pattern. totally worth it. it's versatile and easily adjustable. two of the designs have a princess seam so it's very useful when you want to finesse the pattern into a bodice for a dress. or even an 18th century bodice

It turned out absolutely adorable! This is the perfect project to use up scrap fabric, it uses really small pieces and it looks good even without pattern matching. I have the butterick pattern and it's so good! It's really easy to alter and you can get a lot more than the 4 options it shows you. My preferred alteration is to take out the princess seam and make it straight, do 2 or 3 rows of boning down the front and a couple diagonal rows on the side. It looks so flattering that way. I also changed the armscye to make it a smooth curve in the back, and that way you can adapt the bodice into something with sleeves, even!

Oh no I also ordered that pattern last week and they said the delivery time was unknown. I hope it won't be months till it gets here 😱 I have also adjusted my simplicity pattern for a more modern looking corset haha. My front dips down into a point but I really like how yours is more straight at the bottom. That is probably more wearable with pants and skirts! I might have to adjust it again. Yay another excuse to make more corsets. I usually am too timid to try a bold pattern but the blue side is really convincing me to give it a go! Yours came out really nice! Love it!

You can always order the patterns digital from MCAlls and such which doesn’t take much if it’s a small pattern. I live in the USA, Western Washington State, where we get a lot of rain and a mild climate. The thing we are famous for is Mount Saint Helens blowing it's side out and causing major damage to the eastern side of the state. That was an experience, I can tell you! I made this today!!! thank you for the video, it gave me the courage to try another corset pattern. I think it came out alright. I don't know much about negative ease and I didn't spend a lot of time trying to adjust the pattern's measurements; besides cutting the hips section out and rounding out the bottom hem. So all in all it's not the *best* silhouette, but with my flouncy blouse and maxi-skirt I am ready for the ren-faire!! I did put eyelets in the shoulder straps to adjust them because I also didn't trust myself to lengthen the armscye enough. I love tying everything together with the ribbons anyways. I went for a more rustic approach and I only finished the bottom hem with binding tape (aka I need this tomorrow and had to give up on finishing all the curvy edges). Maybe another day I can sit down and finish the edges properly because I would LOVE to incorporate this into an everyday look. Awesome video, I will definitely check out your other videos for inspiration again!

I have that black and white pattern that I need to get back to help complete or at least coordinate my wardrobe. When I first was introduced to the pattern my eyes lit up and knew I needed that to go with my outfits that are bohemian style and recycled thrifted clothes to tie them together more. Random skirts and shirts that basically couldn’t work before.

I love how your bodice turned out! I've used the pattern you want - a lot. I've made the one with the peplum, and a bunch of the one with fixed straps without the peplum - it's perfect for general faerie tale costuming (which I have done a bunch of for some theatre in my community. I used quilting cotton mostly for both the front and back, with an inner layer of muslin for stability. It's a pretty easy pattern if you can get it!

That Pattern is so good! I am in the process of making it. I actually have both size ranges. I could not find the smaller size range for the longest time, then found the pattern on Amazon. Realized it was the bigger range when it arrived and finally got the smaller range from some shop I found through a lot of googling. When I went to make it, I realized that the smallest size of the bigger range is what I should make according to the measurements they give, even though I am usually one or two sizes smaller ... I still need to do the final binding and make the eyelets, but I want to wear it so badly!!

This looks great! My only suggestion, if you make another one, would be to maybe detach the straps from the front of the bodice and instead fix them to the front using eyelets and laces like in 18th-century stays. I think it would make the straps lay nicer. (Although I'm not entirely sure if it would look right with a corset that's this low-cut... hmmm, just food for thought xD.)
