So it is the capacitance that increases the fencer? I thought it was the coil/transformer. I have 4 weak out of the box fencers and am looking to keep goats as well as a horse in. Sadly all my animals have learned bad habits already and my fences are in shambles.

It's a combination of things. The transformer just takes the energy it gets from everything else and puts it to the fence. A transformer can only take so much energy into it before it plateaus or burns up inside, so there has to be a good happy medium between everything. We are also offering our own brand of fence chargers before too long, March/April timeframe. For goats you need at 4 to 6 joules minimum to make them listen and respect the fence. I'm not sure what size units you currently are using, they may not be stout enough for them.

Can you make the energizer "click" faster? I'd like to modify mine, just don't know which resistors or capacitors to change. I have an American Farm Works #EAC15MAF-R1

No I do not, there's a lot that goes into that timing stuff, not just the resistors and caps in it. If you make it discharge too quick, you actually lose output power because it's discharging to fast for it to build up it's shock. If animals are getting out, you probably just need more joules vs a faster speed or add some wires above or below so they can't sneak through as easily

Yes the more joules your unit has, the stronger it is.
