I love to grow my own roots, including Turmeric, I know it has had no chemical fertilizers, insecticides or herbicides, it is organic and imperfect, just like me. Here I juice my homegrown Turmeric, the only color in this soap. Come along and keep me company as this lovely goat milk bar together.

I loved seeing the harvesting of the turmeric, Patrick. Despite portions of the batter thickening, your final bars are very lovely. Great color 💛🧡

Dirty pours are still fun and its still soap! Have you thought about using rhubarb root powder in your soaps? I've seen several videos lately and apparently it produces a natural magenta color!

I grow ginger so maybe I'll try turmeric. Please tell me about your lovely ring.
@SoapyOaksFarm
@SoapyOaksFarm 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there Teresa, please do give it a try it's so easy to grow. As for the ring, this is one that I purchased during day of the dead here in Texas. It has both skulls and roses so a celebration of life and an acknowledgment of the limited time we have here to enjoy it. So when I look at it I think relish every moment. I hope that makes sense.

Loved seeing you harvest your tumeric! I live in AZ wonder if it would grow here? Beautiful soap and going to feel fabulous on the skin. Does the turmeric juice give any scent at all? Thanks for your video!❤

Clivia, some tips I can share, lots of natural fertilizer and don't let the roots sit in water, good drainage is a must. Plant them about 5-6 inches apart, and about 1 inch deep in moist planting mix. Cover with mulch, leaves, compost, etc. to retain moisture, in about 6 weeks you will see shoots appearing, water whenever the soil feels dry. You can harvest once the leaves start to dry in the fall/winter depending on your weather
