I dehydrate my rabbits fruit treats all the time, its a lot less expensive than the small packets that you sell in your store and you know for sure it is 100% fruit. I have done bananas, pineapple, and grapes, whichever was on sale at the time I needed more. You do not need to soak them in lemon juice before dehydrating them, your rabbits do not care what color they are. Because carrots are a root vegetable they keep very well without being dehydrated, so save yourself a lot of unnecessary work and use fruits instead. Thanks for your videos and the time and work you put into them.

I totally get the nervousness. We dehydrate stuff all the time now but when we first started I was worried it would mold. But we've learned. It's my uncommon for the middles to be a bit bendy. So, they don't need to be crunchy. The dried bananas on the stores are just made differently. Hang in there, you'll get it! I need training treats.

You should have fed the bunnies the leftover pieces, including the peel. You don't want to waste anything. I have dehydrated banana slices, strawberry slices, and apple slices. Carrots I've dehydrated; sliced at an angle so they are more of a stick snack rather than a chip. Dehydrating helps you keep fruit and veggie treats on hand for buns longer. It's a great thing to be able to do. In general, they say to look for a leathery texture when your fruits are done. I love all the helpful videos you do. Thank you. Can't wait to see Luca.

Freeze-dried fruits and vegetables are much more nutritious for rabbits than dehydrated ones! Dehydration kills many of the vitamins and minerals contained in the food through the process of drying them. I don’t know why more people aren’t aware of this. Also, freeze-dried food is much easier for a rabbit to chew! It is not hard and leathery like dehydrated foods are. This is particularly important if you have a rabbit that is up in years and may have dental issues. I buy freeze-dried produce on Etsy. My bun loves it as an occasional (not daily!) treat. If you want to try your rabbit out on freeze-dried, you can buy freeze-dried bananas and strawberries sold by Oxbow at your local PetsMart or Petco.

I know this is an older video, but how long do bunny treats usually last? Not how much should you give to your bunny, but do they go bad? Like if I make a batch, how long before they "expire"? Or do they not really expire because they're cooked?

I created a great recipe you take a coffee grinder or food processor you pulverize 2 cups of pellets 2 cups of mountain hay 2 cups oat hay and 1 cup of alfalfa Really any amount you want. Keep them in separate labeled ziplock bags. Take Approximately Four days worth of banana for each bunny, so if you normally give them a 1 inch slice then cut a small banana in half Mash up the banana on a plate add 2 teaspoons of mountain hay powder 2 teaspoons of pellets powder 2 teaspoons of oat hay. I let it sit a few minutes to absorb the banana it should be nice and Rollable. (Rollable??? Lol ) and make 4 balls for four days of breakfast treats Then take each ball and roll it in the teaspoon of alfalfa hay in a separate container. I make 4 at a time and keep them in the refrigerator because I only have one bunny and he gets one a day at breakfast, if you have four bunnies you could probably make 12 of them by tripling the recipe. BY THE WAY YOU CAN REALLY USE ANY HAYS YOU HAVE ON HAND AND EVEN SKIP THE PELLETS Just end up with 6 teaspoons of whatever you please per 1/2 a small banana 🍌 Enjoy!!!!

I just got a bunny today, but she has 3 toes on one paw, she does everything a normal bunny does but should I be worried? Also if I spayed my older rabbit would they be okay together until I could get my 2 month old female spayed?

I have to ask this because i get so confused when i see people with questions like this on youtube videos like this. What makes you think that asking her is a good idea? She is not a vet, she does know a thing or two about rabbits and caring for them. I can help you with your question, your first question that you asked, comes with questions in return... like how old is your bunny? what type of bunny is it they have different feet this could be a factor depending on the breed. If you are worried that is one thing but i would still go to the vet to make sure that your bunny will not need any extra tending too. Your second question also has more questions coming back to you.... older bunny? how old? what breeds are the bunnies, how much time would they be together. Again, these questions are great but they are great for your vet. Not a girl making rabbit treats on her KZbin channel.

Hi great video my rabbit is under weight because I went on holidays and my bun sitter only feed her once a day she only four months old but I used to feed her twice and my vet told me she under weight because of not being feed as much but didn’t have time to tell me what to do so does any one have any suggestions

Just give her a little bit more food, nothing fattening. She should return to normal with no problem! My dog doesn't eat when I leave her. Sometimes she's a skeleton when I get back, but in a week or so she's gained the weight back.

Dear 101 Rabbits, Im in a really difficult situation someone does not want to give there bunny full time hay, they say she does not need it, a hand full once a week is enough and they want to put the bunny in the old outside chicken coop. I don't want to interfere, but I can't just let that bunny live in that outdoor chicken coop. I tried to tell them but they just say That It's cruel to keep a bunny indoors. Please could you maybe give me some guidance on how to handle this. Great vid really enjoyed.

I can tell you right now, that getting involved with someone else's animal and home life is something you need to leave alone. That is very sweet of you to want to help, but they wont see that as help. Most people now a days see that as a threat and that is not a place you want to be in. You also don't know their bunny, or their vet and if it is ok with them as owners, look the other way and don't get involved with a situation that you considered as being a good person and didn't want the rabbit to die, turn into something that is now a risk for you on many different levels.
