Hello, I worked in a shop making sword for a long time. I am totally used to this sound. Other people are not. You might consider a sound track while you are grinding away.

I bet quality metal to make a katana must be pretty hard to come across.

The posture of togishi... My back is crying. I'd love to do all of this to the extent that they do buy I was born with a back that just doesn't let me.

Really? Thats pretty shocking to me. 3V is one of the toughest steels out there, I can't imagine a well heat treated blade just breaking with use.

tamahagane is not the highest quality... its authentic... but cpm-3v would make a far superior katana assuming the heat treat was right.

5160 or better yet CPM-3V. Hard to come across, no. Expensive (cpm3v) yes.
