🕺aaaaand… SHAZAM! Looks like you discovered some new tools. Isn’t it awesome to work with the correct tools instead of making do with something else. Pick up a “rip fence” for your circular saw. It makes cutting off long thin strips, like the ones you cut off of the gauge panel a snap. Keep up the good work! It’s always enjoyable to watch you work. A very calming interlude for my chaotic mind.

Machen Sie weiter so. Ich wünsche Ihnen dafür viel Glück, Spass und Gesundheit. Grüße aus dem Norden.

Step bit or a plywood jig is the ticket. I always drill a hole in a 1/2" piece of plywood then center it over the hole. But either way will work fine. Not sure if he has a step bit. My concerns with the install was, he used black iron screws fastening it to the deck... He should find SS to replace them.

Little garden. bravo overall. love viewing your series from west Michigan. The little boat your friend had to haul the red tanks was nice. I want one
@granthayden37443 жыл бұрын
The wire you used from the new plug to the top of the mast is bare copper strands. In a marine environment you should use tinned copper stranded wire like you used in the socket. The bare copper will corrode and turn green leading to premature failure.

With a steel boat be prepared to spend many hours over the years using HARD work keeping up with rust. Old deep water Navy vet, used needle gun and grinder many hours on four types of warships. Any surface exposed to water will need maintenance. The US Navy put out Preventive Main Schedule for surface and below waterline scraping and repainting. Sticking to a routine over your time on board will keep the work from being a very long process if ignored. Keep all exposed weather stripping on a very short schedule to avoid trouble. You can also stock spares on any heavily used items you had to restore. Especially inspect your navigational gear, if possible keep all manuals and be aware of surges that can really play havoc while at sea. Your ballast choices need to be very easily accessed if any changes need to be addressed. Good work and hopes she provides you with many great moments.

When cutting with a circular saw, the finished side of the wood should be facing down. This will prevent burrs from forming on the finished edge and give a much nicer cut. Great Videos, good luck!
@waynep3433 жыл бұрын
remove the engine stop button again from the control panel and paint the inside of the hole if possible.. on your mast.. you need to add some feet to the front of it.. so there is no chance of it cracking your hatch cover if you have to tilt the mast down for any reason.. if the pivot holes are oversized in the mast itself.. you can drill the hole oversize and line it with inexpensive fuel hose or even water hose. since you know the hole sizes for the gauges.. you might be able to source some very thin orings to put around the gauges to allow them to seal to the control panel top.

May I suggest using plastidip or similar rubber spray in a can, to paint the bezels of the gauges satin black, and the throttle controller? It'll be easy to peel off the glass after using a toothpick when still tacky.

Thanks for the video👍🏻sometime the little jobs give us a lot of satisfaction and that is needed on a big project. The mast and light are like the cherry on the cake, the star / angel on the Christmas tree😁 If it makes you happy and gives drive for the next project well done. After all this is your project so who are we to judge? IMHO i would of kept the tank, but just my opinion, you know what they say about opinions they are like assholes, everyone has one but they think each other stink 😅 good luck looking forward to the next update 👍🏻👏⛵🏴
