It's the conundrum of small businesses. 100K from one person is a LOT of money to ask. But, at the same time? A business needs way more then 100K, to expand out of the plateau. It's where the Dragon's Den formula gets issues. Another issue is time value. How much will it cost to put the effort in, when they could put that in another company?
@Arc-Trinity3 жыл бұрын
100K isn't much to them, I think they were just trying to sweat the dude for more equity.
@PhilosophyofElivagar3 жыл бұрын
@@Arc-Trinity It's less about the inherent value of 100K and more about what it _could_ be. That 100K could be thrice as much if invested in the next person who walks into the den - it's the potential of cash, rather than it's value, that is important to investors.

@Sam-yr8ls3 жыл бұрын
@@clk63amg5 sorry I'm not sure what to say, I don't know if your young or whatever. 100% of most American reality TV shows are fake. You realise things like Jersey shore are %100 scripted right? The ultimate fighter, the bachelor, everything is %100 staged. Almost every business on shark tank the pitch is %100 totally scripted, they are just thier to advertise thier business, thier due diligence hardly ever happens and almost every deal ever made never goes through and isn't serious (bar a few where seperate serious meetings are done off camera but juiced up for the actual show). Almost all the time thier numbers are absolute pie in the sky, and when you check thier accounts online, it's nothing like what they make out on the show. Alot of the American dragons are not as wealthy as they make out and have dealing with super dodgy pyramid schemes. Uk version and culture you can't get away with as much silliness so it's all real, which is why they make alot more fuss over giving out the money. Despite this, even accepted deals still rarely go through due diligence because by the time the dragons tooth comb a businesses accounts and history, most people lie etc and so even the English ones most of the time don't go through. But uk version is at least real 👍
@namnack3 жыл бұрын
You'd have to divide that by 2 to compare it with BPS.

Because most of the companies on shark tank are already very established and turning over millions of dollars a year. Hence why they're asking for million dollar plus valuations. Dragons den seems to be more new or startup companies, not ones who are already making lots of money.

Don't know about anyone else but I tend to isolate any outlet before removing from its back box to do any work around it, a good tiler or plasterer would get slop in the cut out and if a painter did then they can't paint. Been doing maintenance of all kinds with hundreds of contractors of all kinds for 30 years and I've never seen one of these or anything similar used by anybody. If you're taking off a live faceplate to wrap this around you better have confidence the spark was good or have steady fingers or just play safe and isolate.
