Hi guys, I hope you like this vlog-style tutorial and find it inspiring :) I've always been wanting to make turquoise jewelry and I was waiting for a modern idea to happen. Then here it is, in June, which is summer for most of us. I've also tried many times making those turquoise beads, and they finally look so amazing! (at least to me. :D) Have fun making these summer jewelry. :)

@@MaggieCSAtelier Haha, me too. I am a coffee fanatic. I have a question for you. When you hammer an earring, like a crossover threaders, how do you hammer it smooth without texture? I hope that makes sense. I want to hammer part of the wire up half way but without the texture. I've tried but it's never smooth. Video, maybe?
@MaggieCSAtelier2 жыл бұрын
Hello J :) I’m not 100% sure with your design. I think if it’s threader, means they are not joining at one of the end. To hammer on it, you could try to open up the threader like how you open a jumpring. Then hammer on the parts you want. Another way would be you hammer the parts first before the wires crossover. Maybe send me the picture of the design, then I might be able to create a video for that issue. :)

So clever! Do you need to coat or treat the brass wire so it doesn't tarnish and discolour?
@MaggieCSAtelier10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes you can send it for gold plating or polish it with renaissance wax to prolong the shine. But I normally don’t because I can give it a quick polish with flex shaft if there’s any discolouration.

Love this video! I have a question it’s my first time making earrings . So I already bought 20g Gold Filled Round Half Hard Wire is that also work in the oven?(regular oven from home)
@MaggieCSAtelier Жыл бұрын
Yes it’d work fine as long as you are using low temperature. I’ve used 110- 130 degree and it was fine. Get an oven thermometer to be sure of the heat of your oven is accurate. Enjoy making! :)
@gibuxdorf Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your answer do you put the wire in all of the earrings ? Because in the video you put just in one sorry I’m really new with this also I can’t make the shape right. All of my design I can’t have it in the same shape different sizes 😢 because got so sticky
@MaggieCSAtelier Жыл бұрын
I didn’t put wire in all the beads as it requires quite a lot of reshaping after that. (But it’s an option for those who doesn’t have a flex shaft) I prefer drilling holes after baking the beads. This method produce clean holes for the beads. If the clay got sticky, reduce the use of acrylic paint and let the clay sit around for a day or two before cutting. Hope this helps:)

Can we use cross peen/jewellery hammer thats is 10 or 50mm head instead of chasing hammer for flatten the wire?
@MaggieCSAtelier2 жыл бұрын
Hi I’m using chasing hammer because the dome head could create ‘a gradual’ flattening piece. Not quite sure if the flat head of cross pein hammer could do that. Let me know if you ever try.

This looks amazing! I am new to polymer clay and hoping to ask some advice. Can you bake with sterling silver or tinned copper wire? Also couldn't you assemble the earrings before baking?
@MaggieCSAtelier2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’ve only tried goldfilled and bare metals, so I’m not so sure with tinned/coated copper. I think silver would be fine. The polymer clay beads would deformed a little here and there when I insert metal wire into it, then there’s quite a bit of reshaping to be done before baking. To keep the earring beads in better shape, I drilled holes after baking, which would give me a cleaner look on the beads and the drilled holes for inserting the metal parts.if you happen to experiment with tinned copper insert into the beads, let me know the result . Hope this helps! :)
