You could always use these to make smaller half and quarter square triangles, but these would have to be trimmed to a specific size.

Thanks for helping me wrap my mind around how these 4-triangle squares work! This might be a method you cover in other videos, but if you sew two seams 1/4” away on each side of that middle line you penciled, (rather than just one seam on top of that middle line) then you can instead cut on the line and get two squares out of it, rather than having to cut off the excess. Then you could do the same thing with the second step and get two 4-quarter squares! I don’t know if my explanation makes any sense, though 😂

You are right! That is another great method for making these units and it does have a lot less waste. I agree. That was mentioned as a problem with this method. But it's useful for making very small units. If fabric waste bothers you, I have shared other methods of constructing this piece.
