It is odd to think there are people not familiar with WETA. They have been such an influence over the last 25 years, they should be a household name.
@Zorpazorp Жыл бұрын
I know right, it's crazy haha! They've been such a massive influence over my whole life both career and personal!
@davidstone-haigh4880 Жыл бұрын
They most certainly are in our house. I have five LOTR sculpts. Alas, I have been well out priced by inflation/passage of time/greed. One of my sculpts by Daniel Falconer (huge Balrog scene on Zirak-Zigil), cost £65 in 2003. I got a troll bust in a sale for £25 then too (£50 new). These type of sculpts are in the £300 plus range these days. But yikes £1300! Hey ho.
@rustedbeetle Жыл бұрын
@@davidstone-haigh4880 The only sculpts we have were included in the DVD box sets, which are great, but otherwise WETA is outside of our budgets.
@veritech4884 Жыл бұрын
I only discovered them because of this channel, I wasnt big into LoTR until the Minas Tirith build and all that followed it
@blackc1479 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I guess we just have to remember that some poor souls spend all their time worrying about...er, sports scores, or something? 😂 Me and my future mother in law basically forced my wife to watch LOTR back in the day. Instant convert. Years later, right after our wedding we ended up in a gaming store. She found a combat hex balrog/Gandalf. I started to balk at the price, she gave me and was like "we don't have a Balrog!" It's currently on a shelf in our bedroom. Apparently I chose wisely😁

With a little bit of tweaking, that statue could be of use for terrain on tabletop. Either as an insanely huge statue in an Imperial city in pretty good condition, or a destroyed statue in pieces, with each limb being a modular terrain-piece. Either way, the Tyranid could be converted into a bio-titan of some sort.
