The sheer number of parts required for this project is immense and it has been a pleasure watching every single video so far 👍 Checking plans is a relatively simple process, get someone to build the model from the plans and note where they are incorrect or missing details!
@acutabove_woodworkings5 ай бұрын
That process of checking the plans may have already been done Barry and I may have an early version of the plans. There's no way for me to know. That's okay, I enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for tuning in.

Great video as always, I can't believe their plans are off so bad.

Stuff happens Dave. This may be an older version of the prints and the problems may have been correctly already. There's really no way for me to tell. Thanks for tuning in.

Don't worry about how long it's taking. I, for one, like how you can see a problem but also see the solution. Take care.

Thanks for a great show and for sharing how you approach plan discrepancies. I can only imagine how taxing it is to do a build project this long. However, you have kept it informative and enjoyable. Thank you for your steadfast approach to the build. See you next week. Regards…

It's a difficult task for sure and while most folks only see the 25 minute show, they fail to realize the hours and hours of work that are done to create those 25 minutes. Thanks for tuning in and for the encouraging words. it is very much appreciated.

@@acutabove_woodworkings A-men. Having built a few of these now, including Dutchy's models as well as T&J plans, I can attest to the time consuming tinkering that goes with each build. I can think of a couple of times when building the jig and executing the work onba small, seemingly inconsequential part took 3-4 hours and then needed to be redone after some refinement. It ain't quick, but it sure is fun. 🙂 Great work Kenny. and you sir, are a wonderful teacher and coach.

Hey Ken, I always get something out of your videos. I like the way you don't seem to get frustrated when you run into a snag. I myself get rather irritated when I run into a problem, especially when I have spent a good amount of time on a hard to make part. Will be waiting to see the final video and the completed model. Great job Ken. David

Getting frustrated only compounds the problem. I actually enjoy the challenge and the problems are part of that challenge. Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words on the show.

I like the railroad track holder. V-grove holders may not provide backing to help prevent blow-out on the exit hole. Thanks !

Kenny, good catch on the spacers. Just can’t trust those plans. Were the spacers present in that assembly on the truck? If so did it by chance indicate to make the additional parts? I really hate seeing this build come to an end.
@acutabove_woodworkings5 ай бұрын
The assembly on the truck and the assembly on the trailer are two very different animals and are built quite differently when it comes to the spacers and the main beams. That's okay, we got it figured out. Thanks for tuning in Paul. All good things must come to an end.

Great show. I'm enjoying this build. I sent you some pictures of the Power Wagon that I started. I don't know if you got the message or not. There are only a few parts that have been made, but I, as I said, some of them didn't come out the way I want them to, so I got rid of them. Hopefully, I can get back on the build soon.

I did get your email Don but have been extremely busy. I will do my best to respond to it soon after viewing your pictures. Thanks for tuning in and for sending the pics along.

what wood do you use and would it be nice to paint it
@acutabove_woodworkings5 ай бұрын
For this particular model, I have used walnut, cherry, maple and poplar. I personally am not a fan of painting wood but if that is your thing, then by all means, do it. I have seen some pretty amazing models that are made of wood and painted. Thanks for tuning in to the show.
