I never knew I needed a metal contemptor dreadnought in my life until today. Thats amazing!

The best thing about metal is that it's at least more durable.

The extra weight is the best thing for me

There's definitely a nostalgic charm to the 3D printed metal contemptor. Harkening back to that 90's-00's style of sculpting and so on. But considering it was a near comporable price to FW Resin? I gotta be honest, the Resin Contemptor just looks nicer overall. A fascinating project all the same!

Thanks, I don’t actually disagree but I do love the weight on the metal one

Awesome technology, great chill mood of the video :) BTW, I wasn't sure from the footage, how does the detail quality compare to the old metal models?
@RisingApe5 ай бұрын
Sorry it didn’t come across in the video it’s easily as good as the old minis, but not as high as resin printing, does that make sense?
@przemysawbarcikowski56275 ай бұрын
@@RisingApe makes complete sense, I know that oldschool metal casting holds less detail than resin casts, I wanted to check if it's the same with prints. Thanks for clarification! :)

Very fun video :) Will you be doing any more history of colors videos? I love those videos and they were fun to learn from

How is the primer lasting? Does it chip off extra easy from the stainless steel?
@RisingApe6 ай бұрын
No it’s all good, like most metal minis I expect it to be more prone to chipping but it’s easy to touch up, I used citadel primer btw, which is pretty good

@@RisingApe Personally I'm not a big fan of modern GW sculpts, they're way too busy and too clean for my taste, but I'm an oldhammer fool yelling at clouds so just ignore me. lol

Sure it's a bit cool but you can very clearly see the printlines through the paint. Even if it's less expensive it looks significantly worse
@RisingApe5 ай бұрын
Any lines are down to my naff painting, you absolutely cannot see any layer lines, there is some surface texture though, I left it because I like the look of it though
