Actually they were invented in medieval england where they were used to execute criminals on market days. If the criminal had stolen an animal that animal would be used to execute them.

It was designed by Antoine Louis (ironically a personal doctor for royalty) and firstly called "Louisette", the first person that actually built one was the german piano maker Tobias Schmidt, who at that time lived in Paris. And yes I just watched a nearly two hours long documentary about the history of the guillotine.

dude the bit about final cut pro crashing at least once a day was so painful. It literally crashes every other time I use it, takes forever to load, and refuses to export into the quality and ratio that is optimized for youtube, even though those are presets already in final cut. No idea how Kurtis has been making videos with final cut all these years, truly a talent we don't deserve
