Weather in Malaysia is different than the European countries or western countries. With cold and dry weather, the bacteria is not as bad as in tropical countries, Its humid here and bacteria is multiplying like crazy! 😅

As a malaysian and rent a room, my other housemates are foreigners. Had to tell them to open their shoes before entering the house. Fortunately, they understand and never wear outside shoes/slipper/sandals inside our house anymore.

Bersih hapenya kalau kluar masuk public toilet, lepas tu masuk rumah. Orang melayu dan jepun je buka kasut.Jepun ada kasut rumah sbb sana sejuk. Mat saleh pun da aware skrg macam Martha Stewart kalau tetamu datang dia sediakan kasut rumah sebelum mereka melangkah masuk. Melayu dulu sbb jalan kaki ayam, ada sediakan buyung dan gayung untuk ceduk basuh kaki sebelum naik rumah.

it start from our ancestors,at the early time about 1900 and below,they will put a pile of water near the footstep...mostly all old school house have stairs at the main door...build with a little bit high and they will easily move the house to next location with the help of others...now days maybe about less than 10% the houses that still standing....even without the spread of islam in this land...our ancestors have practising those things...like wash feet before enter house, take off shoes

It‘s usual for high humidity warm countries to take off their shoes and socks. I am Malaysian lived in Germany for almost 5 years. I wore shoes most of the times outside and wore socks in the house. But when I am in Malaysia, wearing socks feels so uncomfortable as your feet sweat easily and stank. Plus it’s our eastern customs to go barefoot in home and just wearing sandals outside.
