With such a huge Cantonese influence in the city of Ipoh, there’s so much tasty Chinese Malaysian street food and delicious foods to eat in Ipoh, Malaysia. We started our Malaysia street food tour in Ipoh with the traditional baking method used for the popular Malaysian food, heong peng fragrant pastry. This is one of the most popular foods in Ipoh and we were lucky to watch the whole process.
No Malaysia street food tour in Ipoh is complete without trying the famous Ipoh white coffee. Kedai Kopi Sin Yoon Loong is the place for trying Ipoh white coffee, and we can see why, smooth and velvety with the perfect amount of sweet, the taste and flavour of the Ipoh white coffee was incredible.
The Chinese street food in Ipoh, Malaysia, is wonderfully flavourful, with special cooking techniques such as the baked salted chicken at Aun Kheng Lim. Eating a whole Chinese baked salted chicken on the side of the road brings a whole new meaning to street food!
To cool off and complete our day, we grabbed a frozen beer and the popular Chinese street food in Malaysia, Gai Se Hor Fun. On top of all the amazing food in Ipoh is the beautiful colonial buildings and charming old town.
We hope you enjoy our Malaysia street food tour in Ipoh, eating a whole Chinese baked salted chicken and trying white coffee. Stay tuned for more street food in Malaysia, food tour styles!

Ipoh white coffee very nice but condensed milk and evaporated milk rather unhealthy, I drink them occasionally. At home I drink instant coffee with milk and without sugar. You can try Hoong Tho Restaurant in Ipoh, their 豬網油春卷,桂花冬粉,乾煎生面 very nice, two of these three dishes you can’t get in canada.

back in the colonial years white coffee is made to cater the wealty British Tin Mine Bosses .. most brits back then were not a fan of strong bitter coffees (robusta). Ipoh Coffee is a blend of Robusta, Arabica & Liberica beans.. separately roasted and mixed before the grinding process.. The typical bitter flavour from robusta beans are manipulated with the process of butter & sugar coating in a hot wok after the roasting of robusta beans. With the combination of the three different types of beans, a new blend of coffee is created unique to it’s place of origin..

Glad they've made it to Ipoh. The best food in this video is indeed the Baked Salted Chicken and their famous white coffee. I think Steph best food is probably the Heong Peng. I like those purple bowl, saucer, & chopstick of Hakka Shredded Chicken Noodles Soup, but that sky blue soup spoon I don't see it blend well with it. I'm looking forward for them to try out their Milo beverages and Cendol-Shaved Ice mixed with red or kidney beans, pandan noodles, plum sugar, & coconut milk.

Time 14:27 Ipoh White Coffee - Traditionally, Malaysian style 'black' coffee roast is produced by roasting the beans with sugar and margarine. 'White' coffee, on the other hand, is produced with only margarine and without any sugar, resulting in a less dark roasted coffee beans compared with those roasted with dark caramel burnt sugar. it was first introduced by this coffee shop in Ipoh. That is why is called Ipoh White Coffee. It has nothing to do with the condensed milk .
