Cheerleading has been ondicted into the Olympics starting 2020... May not be televised but.who knows.. They hardly show rhythmic gymnastics and not ballroom dance but im sure the internet will have at least some clips

@alaxandra Johanna. I coach high school cheer and the leaders of the dciaa organization told usnthis recently as rules for competition in DC have changed.... Ballroom.has been in for years but many things even rythmic.gymmastics dont get television airing

Cheer was not the first cheer show on Netflix, why do people forget about Cheer squad!? I personally think cheer squad was better then cheer. Cheer is so much like cheer squad it's just a copy of cheer squad in my opinion, but with a school team and not as interesting of a show.

I look at the old routines and I look at what they did in 2019 and these earlier routines are not even in the same league. I don't know how they are going to surpass what they are doing now. This team has always been awesome and Monica is the bomb!

Cheerleading evolves soooooo quickly. If you compare 2015 to 2019 for any team you'll see a huge change. It's awesome

the cheer world has evolved so much from 2012 to 2015 and from 2015 to now. They mimic allstar cheer trends and the way allstar cheer is now. Cant wait to see what the future holds

I so agree with you both all the way! When I was in competition cheer and school cheer we were learning all these new things no one had done before and it was insane then! What their doing now just blows me awayyyyyy !!! I'm 31 years old now almost 32 and I cheered 10yrs old to 19yrs old and now my daughter is in cheer and it's so much on a even higher level! Miss it !!! But excited to see my daughter follow in my steps ♥️

Watching this, now I understand why the athletes said 2019 routines are soo tough that they didn't have the chance to breath. 2019 was super fast and intense. No room to spare. No room to breathe. Good job!

tbh college cheer is a combination of all star + school cheer, but I agree it’s more like all star

Candace Lewis all star cheer has more advanced tumbling and stunting. Some college teams perform at NCA, which has more of an all-stars feel. Other colleges compete at UCA, which is sideline cheer mixed with all star. It depends on what people prefer.

Im literally shooked at people who know that cheerleaders do tumbling, baskets, and pyramids. Yet, they couldn’t even imagine calling “Cheerleading” anything remotely close to a, “Sport,” until they saw it recorded? HUH? But, consider basketball and football more of a sport because they “work out” and do lots of “lifting. That cheerleaders do as well, throwing 95Lb - 120Lb in the air isn’t that easy, not to mention they have to balance these girls in their palm of their hands keep in mind their arms are all the way stretch out straight up. That’s like balancing 2 50pound weights above your head or sometimes 1 100 pound weight when they balance the girls with one arm instead of two.

Michela Lemons depends on the category. In college, I cheered for an “all girl” team where I based, but competed on a “co-ed” all star team where I flew.

Cheerleading is so interesting to watch for some reason. I definitely wanted to be a cheerleader at one point but I decided to play soccer instead and am so glad I did.. To make up for not cheerleading I became a performer (gogo dancer/flow artist) for festivals and events :)
