I really like death tyrant in my Prossh deck. You attack with Prossh and your kobolds, then after declaring blockers, you can sacrifice all your kobolds to Prossh. Since they were attacking you get that many 2/2 zombie tokens. Plus the damage goes through, as long as they don’t block Prossh.

I will say Prossh Aristocrats doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive. I made mine revolve around Resembling Skeleton like cards instead of mass token generators so the deck slowly grinds out value by sacing the same dude over and over again. As a Prossh lover though I love your version alot because it’s an interesting spin on his usual flood the board strategy

Most of the things making aristocrats expensive are the payoffs rather than the things that die. The good token makers really push it up but when I looked at aristocrats most death payoffs you want are $2-$5, which hurts ~30 cards later

But I will say usually when people say “Prossh is expensive” they also then complain that they “have to have” Parallel Lives, Doubling Season, or Food Chain (which is actually cheapest it’s been in a long time) in order to work. Figured I’d at least mention the skeleton trick for those maybe interested in Prossh aristocrats, but not interested in the price tag. As an aside, I’m happy to see you’re enjoying JJK and love the shorts on it. Maybe do something clowning on MAPPA for their treatment of their animators, like the design team shorts

i have a card swap suggestion instead of or in addition too hellion eruption i would reccomend descent of the dragons it costs about $2 and it lets you choose what you get rid of for 4/4 with flying it also costs six mana and you can destroy opponents creatures too the only problem is that it isnt a scrifice trigger

Watching over this I can't help but think "why not Ashnod's Altar?" As long as you can pay that red-black-green every casting of Prossh is then free since the altar makes every token 2 colorless. Failing that, Altar of Dementia with any banner effects to give the Kobold Proletariat some teeth to forcibly mill the blue player to "lose on draw step"

You'd have to run (at least quite a few) snowlands, which tend to be an actual investment, unlike regular basics.

@@qwormuli77 I've found just running all the snow duals you can is enough. in a 3 color deck you rarely if ever draw all 3, Which is ~$1.50 for the duals the deck can run, for a total of ~$2.20 in total extra investment for a better mana base

@@Oxygen1004 And in a budget optimized deck you have to get all you can for every euro. Though I'd still run _at least_ 5-6 snow basics, and snow basic suite can add up to a few euros more or so. Because even a slight-ish chance at whiffing a Rampant makes it worse than the coverage gives you can't take that chance. But I don't necessarily disagree, especially in situation where you can get extra mileage from the snow investment. For that money even a Three visits might be a better alternative, not to mention Nature's lore. But if a third one is in need or the snow is used elsewhere, Into the North is a good one.

My only issue with this build is the inclusion of Vat of Rebirth. Since it specifies "put into a graveyard from the battlefield" and not something dying, I don't know if it works the way you say it does. Tokens don't go to the graveyard. If they leave the battlefield, for any reason, they cease to exist. I went and checked the rules to be safe... MTG CR 704.5d: "If a token is in a zone other than the battlefield, it ceases to exist". It would still die, so triggers involving the death of a creature go off, but it wouldn't go to the graveyard because tokens are NEVER in the graveyard... so a card like Vat of Rebirth, Agent of the Iron Throne, Ashen Reaper, and so on wouldn't work in a strategy based on tokens dying.

Actually, it does trigger the vat, because in order for the token to cease to exist it has to be in a zone other than the battlefield, in this case the graveyard, meaning it's in the graveyard even if only for the briefest of seconds before non-existing as a state-based action. If it's any consolation for me not knowing the specific rules/rulings, tokens do indeed trigger the vat on Arena, and on a Google search, everyone in comments/discussion of the card says that it works like that.

@@The1AndOnlyGoldenboy Play for a year or so more and it'll tart making sense. Stuff moving between zones and stuff existing in zones are (roughly) two different things in MTG. For something to exist in a zone (that it didn't start at) it has to first move there. Stuff moving has names, depending on from where what moves and where it moves to. Dying, being cast and being discarded are some of those. Stuff referring to those things refer to the movement, not the destination. So, for something to cease to exist in a destination, it has to logically go there first. And that going is the dying in this question. If it goes, it triggers the things that trigger when it goes and the triggers don't care what happens to it when it reaches it's destination.

ACTUALLY, Tokens are considered to enter the GY(Or Exile or what have you) and then vanish from existence immediately after(iirc this is a state based action but I forget the exacts), rather than vanishing while on the battlefield This comes up in a number of places, for a rather recent example: Role Tokens, Wicked deals a bit of burn when it enters the GY
