I think Max's approach was spot on. If he made a video about YT's awful moderation, would it get as big as this one got? Absolutely not. Many have tried and failed over and over again. YT doesn't care until something has the possibility of reaching their pockets, and this viral inflammatory allegation was able to worry them enough in order for them to respond. It would affect their pockets if it got out of hand. I hope we can see BIG changes in YT's TOS and guidelines soon. Thank you MamaMax. Not all heroes wear capes.

As someone who was previously gr00med by that specific person on IMVU as a kid, albeit a brief period of time before I left the platform for good. I'm happy for MamaMax and all his hard work, I honestly wasn't aware that particular predator was STILL active on IMVU, but I'm glad he's been taken care of. I've checked daily since the take down and the #PickASideKZbin movement has started to see if the video is back up or not. I only partially watched it before remembering what happened and seeing that name again made me feel sick. I'll support Mama as he continues to fight the good fight against predators and disgusting fuckers, as well as his fight for content creators on KZbin.

MamaMax has so much of my respect. i've seen some people criticize him for rather than the subject matter, the style of video being really extra and edgy. However I want to say to that as someone who's been watching him for a long time, that's just his brand. he does it for shock factor and his audience who love the style because the way he expresses his anger and will to protect gets comforts them. if he sat down and talked about it like say, critical for example, it just wouldn't feel like a MamaMax video, and it would probably go unnoticed or forgotten. This being said, I can see why people unfamiliar with Max would have mixed feelings about the video, as it is rather disturbing in nature. As for my thoughts on the video, I think it was a really risky move on Mama's part, but also a risky move that was executed extremely well and gave what it needed to give. The video worked, and I think that's what matters most. Now here's to hoping youtube ACTUALLY makes some changes after this.

I understand if other survivors disagree but most people i have seen who talk about his theatrics aren't csa survivors themselves and idk if they know that many survivors don't mind how his videos are done. After thinking about it a lot, i've come to the conclusion that the way max approached the situation was actually pretty smart. Yeah, the tweet wasn't super friendly towards youtube/youtubers, but generally when you try to make any changes in this world, you're going to need to get people riled up. Yes, there was in fighting. Just like literally every other movement in existence Yes, the slogan "pick a side youtube" doesn't accurately represent everything his video was about. neither does any other slogan about a movement in existence When trying to make changes in this world, there are never any pretty solutions. And the fact that this not only worked, but also nobody from my knowledge actually suggested any better solutions proves that Max knew what he was doing and the critiques of "pickasideyoutube" kind of aged poorly If Max just made the tweet "please listen to us youtube uwu" with no tags or callouts, very few people would actually care. But the fact that it did get so messy got a lot more people to care and talk about it For what it's worth, I agree that this wasn't the prettiest solution. I also believe there are no pretty solutions here and Max was right to do what he did

I have 15 year old twin step daughters. I’m terrified for them that they have been "so in love" with creators and KZbinrs with large crowds but they are able to be reached a lot easier than Hollywood actors or most teens and children that become attached to. I’m absolutely disgusted when P3d0 (just awful that I’ve written it out and had my comment deleted in many many call out videos) is more important than children being protected…. When they CAPAA’d everyone with toy channels, where people had to start cussing and drinking on video to make sure they wouldn’t demonetize and take away comments because they were flagged as "kid content". So scared my step daughters will tell me at 18 that they were groomed, or talked to s3xually from an older creator.

If you think about it MamaMax's strategy was really good and the success proves it. You have to remember that KZbin is a company, part of a corporation. You can't argue with a company with facts, logic and honesty, even if you wanna argue their actions might be damaging to their company. They don't see you as someone who needs to be argued with. To them you are insignificant. Unless ofcourse you create a situation that might be dangerous for their company. Actions speak louder then words. Mamamax didn't need to argue his case. He needed to start a dangerous emotionally driven movement that would get people all over the internet invested. The movement was on everyone's mouths and the question everyone was asking was "Is youtube supporting P$£os?". That's a very dangerous question for youtube. If such question spreads around, it might be dangerous to their brand. There is no need to make yet another typical "My videos are getting demonitized" video. We already saw countless times those videos don't bring a change. But a powerful aggressive video calling to action? Maybe that's exactly what we needed

There have been many cases, outside of MamaMax, where people have been had their channels completely demolished over calling out pedophilic content. "Like this content? Try KZbin kids!" Yeah like watching Tokyo ghoul is for kids. KZbin, all of you, get off your ass and actually do something about this. People who actively do crimes? Get rid of them! I understand that people say what MamaMax has been doing in terms of content tone is cringy. I relate and feel towards that tone because it's how I feel on a daily basis everytime someone brings up my CSA and belittles me for it happening to me. I'm going to be as... Un-detailed as possible. But TW anyway! I was 15 and he was 18, we went to highschool together a year prior. No big deal, right? WRONG! We reconnected and started talking. Very normal very friendly (he was a state away btw so this was all over text & the internet) But slowly he added in compliments, and each compliment got more and more... inappropriate in nature. Until, a month before I turned 16 he asked me for a picture... And at first he freaked out saying "we can't do this ever again" to which I was fine with. I truly didn't understand why he freaked out. I assumed maybe he had a girlfriend or something. Then two days later, he asked for another one. He persuaded me to give him more. Each day he wanted more and more... No less than 50 but by the end it was in the 100s range. This lasted for SEVEN years.... I finally broke away nearly three years ago. And every now and then he "lovingly" tries to pull me back in...

I've dealt with various forms of abuse since the age of 10 (probably before as early as seven or maybe younger but I've blocked out a lot of memories to function normally basically) and I respect what creators like this do. I had to figure a lot of stuff out on my own growing up because I didn't really have anyone to talk to/ share my experiences with. I'm glad there is a growing number of channels and people in general who are discussing this because it's important to get the word out about this. I hope it will also give people the courage to talk about their own experiences in a constructive way.

I don't think Max would have gone to the lengths he went to if he knew his campaign would be anything but a success and thats because he is _serious_ about what he does. Underneath the Hotline Miami homages, he cares about hunting pedophiles down, and I don't think he'd go for such an inflammatory method if it meant that he'd fail. He's not stupid and he wouldn't do anything to purposefully risk harming the CSA victims he's trying to help, because that'd go against his entire mission statement. I'm not saying _everything_ was calculated and he knew _exactly_ that would happen, but I feel like he knew what he was doing and wouldn't purposefully do anything that would greatly damage his end goal. it was a brutal and extreme measure, BUT IT WORKED. Pretty much nobody got anything done before, and it's not like nobody tried. It just didn't go trough. Max found a way to do it and sure, he played a bit dirty, but again, IT WORKED. I've been casual follower of his, but when his IMVU video came out, it resonated with me. I'm part of the statistic and IMVU is honestly even worse than Max made it sound. I'll be in therapy my whole life but videos like Max's help with feeling less alone and like healing is possible and I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one. So yeah. Bit extreme, but absolutely necessary. And I agree with Max that youtube is indirectly often protecting not just p3d0s but also other bad people just to get some extra cash in.

I had my music and art channel entirely removed by KZbin, I had videos that had been up on this site for probably close to ten years. I had mostly posted videos for music and art my friends and I made, a few of us just goofing around, some freestyle raps from old shows I used to go to in St. Louis, most of it with not a whole lot of views, I definitely wasn’t going viral any time soon. My most viewed video had maybe 500-1000 views, it was of Afroman performing live. I shot it myself while on tour with Fro, we were his opening act that traveled with him on a regular basis for a few years. The only explanation I got from KZbin was that several of my videos were flagged for violating copywrite and they wouldn’t go into any more specific details. This to me is extremely frustrating as I will never be able to get those videos back, it was from a point in time when it was rather difficult to upload and edit video footage on a computer, I spent a ton of time and effort putting those videos out and although it might not mean much to anyone else, it sure is infuriating to me personally. This combined with the constant bombardment of lame advertising is really making me sick of this platform. I understand it’s cool if u can get enough views that you can make money from having ads in your videos, but for someone like me, all the thrill and fun is gone. A lot of the old videos I used to love and watch repeatedly have also been pulled. Cmon KZbin, can’t we all just have fun?!?

I still remember that there was videos on KZbin that were hidden in a way to be cute and innocent, only to find that there was some dark shit on the videos. Which would be ok on the main KZbin application (although still shitty) but the videos were on the YT KIDS app. Although I am happy things are changing, I think there will be other ways to tarnish the site. Sad but true
