@jscottlewis71: The irony is that Cass apparently spent months pestering John and Denny to let her in the group -- they thought her obesity would be bad for the young, sexy image they wanted. But then, of course, her voice ended up totally defining the group's sound, and it's impossible to imagine them without her!
@PRR54063 жыл бұрын
Denny was actually very much in tune with Cass. Supposedly it was John who was the holdout. Cass Elliott really supported and defined the group. She was honestly, the voice of the group.

And Sharon and Roman went to Monterey Pop...they bought a large fabric wall calendar with a big carrot on it with the months of 1968 on it. It’s actually seen in the movie, ‘Monterey Pop’ when the camera films various spots throughout the art fair outside the amphitheater...one scene shows the calendar hung on a display above people sitting on the ground. The calendar is on the wall of the living room just beyond where Jay and Sharon were killed.

@HarrySmithDrHex10 жыл бұрын
A "straight shooter" is someone who doesn't miss when he shoots. Michelle's infidelities triggered John's jealousy, which was in turn the inspiration for many of the group's songs. The song is a warning from John that it might be dangerous to cross him.
@johnnada5867 жыл бұрын
It is about johns pastime with heroin , "holding " is slang that means you are in possession of drugs . Come on people this is basic 60 "s slang . If you know what I mean. He was a "shooter " he was shooting heroin at that time of his life . He has been very public with his long term drug use , that started before the band was formed. "Baby whatcha holding , half of that belongs to me " Bonus Triva : Hotel California : " Warm smell of colitas , rising up through the air " , he is smoking a joint people , in So. Calif in the early seventies "colitas " was common slang for the little "buds" you would get in your "smoke" (pot). the Eagles were based in So. Calif.
