After watching every video I could find on this lens, and yours....three times....I decided I had to have this lens for my Mamiya 645 1000s. Damn, it was not cheap!! But pretty sure I'm going to love shooting with it.

I bought my Mamiya specifically for my Sigma FP via the Kipon Baveyes focal reducer. Recently I've also been adapting it onto my FX3. It's such a unique piece of glass. Nice video.

Just got one as well, though I don't think its image look as stunning as what I got from RB67 even with non-C lenses when I nailed the focus, this is very easy to shoot lens as it's bright. I still don't see a picture from more film but I expect it to be stunning when I shoot close up.

I used both on my old Mamiya 645 AF-D. I used it because I have it but yes, the Nikon 58mm f1.2 is blooming brilliant, a low light monster on a D4s or the Voigtlander 50mm f1.2 is amazing. Both manual. You can use a DK-17M to help on a D810 for example. I have that old Canon 50mm f0.95 on an F-1 More of a collectors now.

Great video! Really wanting to buy this lens for my Mamiya 1000s. Heard stories about many of them having "haze". Found one for a decent price that "has a very thin haze towards the rear element that is only visible under close inspection with a light." Curious as to whether or not you think that would affect image quality.

Added note: I decided to pay the extra $ to get a "mint" lens from Japan with no haze.

The "haze" in Mamiya lenses usually happens on the cementing between two lenses. Every piece can be cleaned except that. I mean it can be done, but cementing requires special equipment to realign them correctly, and even then it is annoying like balancing a gimbal... That haze will lower the contrast of the image when shooting into light, but will not make a problem otherwise. If you have any other dust, oil etc, you can disassemble the lens and clean it. Just make sure not to remove coating. The internal coating is not as hard as the external one. If you will remove some of the coating then polish it off completely.

Fastest OEM medium format lens. There's dozens of faster lenses for medium format, but they need some adapters and DIY. And a lot of them cover 6x7 medium format, giving paper thin depth of field and sometimes bokeh which is more interesting and surreal/artsy. Stuff like ISCO Super Kiptar, Meopta Meostigmat, a lot of Bausch & Lomb, Kollmorgen, Zeiss Visionar, Kowa Super Prominar or the "go-to" Schneider Cinelux or Xenon.

The Mitakon 65/1.4 comes in native GFX and XCD mounts, and has roughly the same field of view and depth of field on digital medium format that the Pentax 105/2.4 did on the Pentax 67.
