This movie is grounded in a type of serious reality, while some people like it, Some can not handle it. I enjoyed wrapping my mind around a fresh take on superman. If someone doesn't like this movie they are obviously welcome to make their own movie. But I think this is the best current revision of the character and Supes is my favorite next to the Bat. People are welcome to their own opinions but and the end of the day you hate or love it #haterswillhate

What I love of this movie is that, at some point, we all wanted to be Superman. This movie really delivers what we know as the Man of Steel. This is ‘BY FAR’ the most Epic superhero movie I have seen in my life. Finally! I'm glad someone made the film that should have been made years ago-like they did with the Dark Knight movie. It's more organic, raw, and seems to be far less campy than its predecessors. While I still cherish the original 1978 movie, and appreciate the advancements in special effects of the 2006 film (NOT the storyline), I look forward to seeing this one. It's going to be a huge earner and I believe that it will not dissapoint.

Enough with the whole Avengers vs Man of steel. Personally I loved Man of steel more but there is no point comparing the two other then the fact that they're both rooted in Superheroes. Man of steel is first and foremost, a science fiction movie and that was what I loved and it realized Superman was an ALIEN.

Thank you! This is exactly what I've been telling people. He's only been Superman for about - what? - 48 hours by the time he fights Zod. He's got an incredible amount to learn... and showing him learning (if that's what happens) will be a very valuable part of the sequel. Superman was lucky to have been on Earth so long.. probably made him stronger that Zod.. the only way he could beat a such a skilled warrior... and why the only option he could come up with was killing him.

Finally someone addressed this. Yes it was a huge shock to see him kill Zod but then after you think about it is the right move. He is not quite superman yet. in the previous movies he spent 7 or 8 years training and learning in order to be the righteous superman we know. But here he had to just improvise and get his mind together very quickly in order to protect people and defeat zod. Is understandable that now after this event he learns and become the great righteous natural superman we know.

Again this Superman is reinvented to fit this generation, and if Christopher Reeve was still alive today he would've been very proud and appreciative seeing this film. Because it would bring a lot of good memories of him when he played the same part.

Definitely worth seeing; it's easily the best Superman film to date and my favourite movie of the summer so far. The 3D doesn't really add anything though, but I never think the 3D adds anything.

I responded to this idea that Clark could lead him away from combat in an earlier post but I think it got buried in the exchange. Kal-El launched Zod into space and Zod still forced the fight back to Metropolis because that's exactly where he wants to fight. When Supes dodges the Lexcorp truck and looks back at the explosion in shock and Zod uses it to pummel him even more and THEN starts using MORE property damage to distract him further. He was using the environment to his advantage.

And the Fight for your Life thing is a good point. Except its nullified by what the Movie hammers in the whole time: Superman is here to inspire us. Now beeing a superhero does not only mean to save people and fly around. It also means to do what we cant do: Be human when we cant. To have mercy, when we can or everybody tells you not to have. And of course to make decissions in the battle that nobody seems to do. Superman killing is the ultimate Win for Zod. And its not handled good

Jimmy was in the Daily Planet and will be in the sequel. 5. The plot is far better than any of the previous Superman movies, and they finally respected the fact that he is an alien. 6. This is the proper fighting we deserve 7. The villains were badass 8. They showed struggle on Earth unlike Reeves film

Saw it today and i must say i was very impressed. Do not think it will be like any other superman film before, it is not. If you go in expecting a calm in any situation superman, you will not get it. This time despite his alien powers he is the most human he has ever been. He display more human emotion this time, love, anger, rage, empathy, confusion. For me DC really have come out swinging at Marvel in preparation for Justice League.

actually it did,, just watch 04:31 you'll notice right before the armor it placed over Jor-El,, the suit he's wearing underneath is the blue/red suit with yellow crest, same as the one superman wears. - the cape however is a different story.

None of your points make any sense, I'm not sure which comics you are reading but if I remember correctly Superman never moves his fights he takes them down wherever they start. Especially in the fight with Doomsday.
