Best Superman movie. I watched it 3 times already and I will still watch it. I enjoyed it everytime, full of action,great plot, amazing special effects and touching family story. Earth (Jonathan and Martha Kent) and Krypton ( Jor El, Gen Zod and Faora). Nice Job by Dir Zack Snyder....Mooooore on part 2 please.

saw it last night. Excellent movie. Audience applauded twice during the movie. This is a very different kind of Superman. Much more science fiction in this one, much more action. Makes the Metropolis battle in Superman II look very tame by comparison. Superman is also gritty and more somber, but he's still got the heart of gold that we all expect from Supes. I give the movie an 8 out 10.

Okay, I've been thinking. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Man of Steel (I've only seen it once which kind of says everything), I'm willing to re-watch it once Batman v Superman (another movie I had issue with) comes out. I still believe I will find issues with MOS, but maybe a fresh pair of eyes will allow me to reevaluate the positives of the movie. The same too with BvS (having a longer, more complete, cut should also help!).

This movie was fantastic, I didn't mind that it wasn't the superman from the comics! I like this new take on superman for a modern audience and realistic vibe, it was fantastic and Henry Cavill as superman was amazing!

I agree, but Superman is notoriously known for finding the swolution to the near impossible problem. In the Batman relaunch, Batman never needed to kill. If Superman is going to be the true symbol of what strives to be he cannot send a message of killing. However, you make a valid point. Perhapes the death of Zod, and the torment he feels about taking another life, will allow him to make his, "No Kill" rule.

Zod's fate in Superman II is left iuncertain as we never see what happened to him. Batman didn't try to kill Harvey Dent he was simply trying to tackle him, didn't realize he was on a ledge, and had to make a choice who to save.

Perhapes, but I would have liked it if they showed him more visibly horrified by his actions. Instead of just a scream. I would have liked a scene where he is at his fathers grave, questioning what to do next. Then have Martha come up and echo what Jonathan had said, "You have to decide what kind of man you want to be". That could have inspired Superman to vow that he will "Never kill again". Instead we get a brief scene of regret and suddenly he is back to his normal carefree self.

I think ZOD gave him a choice in the Movie, its either Krypton or Earth. Zod or Kal-El. Kal-El chose earth and earthlings. This decision will define Superman's future action so I can't wait the Next Superman. Man-Of-Steel 2?

Amy Adams played Jodi Melville, a meteor freak in the first season of Smallville. Her characters abilities was being a cannibal because she was hungry all the time and she dated Pete Ross. To me, she doesn't look like a Lois Lane character, though I'll have to watch the film first.

You do get that Christopher Reeve wasnt actually flying- they didnt use CGI they just used dolls and other SFX to capture it? Well, no one saying he wasnt it just a great character- or can be. So no harm in them trying another approach with him.

If you forget all you know of Superman and take this film on it's own merits then it's not a bad film. If however you expected to see a Superman Movie then you may feel a little let down as it bares little resemblance to any of the previous movies and indeed the story of Superman. I suppose it's the modern take of superhero films theses days, look at Batman (duller than dishwater) and yet the Marvel ones have retained the comic book aspect and still pull in the crowds.

MarkFilipAnthony SUPERMAN certainly is thought of as the quintessential American Super hero since he 's always been portrayed that way as some flying boyscout who has X-ray vision [that he never uses on women or so we're lead to believe !!] and of course looks human and yet is not ! so I feel what they tried to do is maintain his sense of values but in keeping in step with the times ; make him more conflicted and complex as well !! enjoy the afternoon!!
