I absolutely love this scene! Superman puts himself in a place of shame by not reacting to the guy’s offense because he’s not a coward, he knew that he could kill that guy with a finger. @MrBronze15

He looks pretty sober after he finish with the place. Keep in mind these people who drove truck for a long journey need their needs properly given as well, there are plenty of cases of truckd rivers got driving burnout or got "million mile stare" for lack of sleep or entertainment. Being drunk driving for these truck driver is the least thing you need to worry about. The company actually have to make sure the driver had their time to rest properly. Back to superman so yeah, the guy probably just trying to have his time for the next long boring journey, it is still an understandable behaviour but still a bit too far as well. So Superman could just scold him a bit or "mildly" intimidate him without overly showing or using his power. Destroying the truck is a very very bad response. There's some cases poor truck driver just sitting alone in a bar he was stuck in random town for a few days and had never been there, and didn't know anyone because his truck broken down. So yeah pretty much that will happen to the guy thanks to Clark generosity for displaying his restraint and strength.
@WhimsicalWanderer730
@WhimsicalWanderer730 5 ай бұрын
@@mcleodmichael1 Describing an 18-wheeler as defenseless is irrational, as it anthropomorphizes an inanimate object. Logically, a truck, unlike a living being, cannot experience defenselessness. The focus of the argument should be on Clark's intentions and choices, rather than fabricating a narrative by attributing victim-like qualities to an object. Rethink your stance and try again.

A lot of people didn’t like Man of Steel. But I did. The best thing about it was that Zod had a purpose to restore his people. In the Christopher Reeves version, Zod was portrayed as just evil and power hungry. Zod had more depth here. I think that makes this film better

Uhhhhh, they set up Zod perfectly in Superman 1 and 2. He wasn’t just evil for evil’s sake. He had a vendetta against Jor-El and his treatment of him on Krypton and imprisonment in the Neutral Zone. He was exacting revenge on Jor-El’s heir. He even says it in the very first scene of Superman 1. “….both you, and then one day, your heir!” Terrence Stamp absolutely slaughtered as Zod.

Tired of people saying he "showed restraint." ever time he lifts something up, moves at a normal speed, or just interacts with literally any object he's "showing restraint." he could have prevented the guy from throwing beer in his face and physically restrained him without giving away the fact that he's superman, and that can't even be your justification for it in the first place because the "resolution" of the conflict is him doing something ONLY superman could possibly do (or someone with superhuman abilities).

A reason I was never much of a Superman fan is that he's too much of a boy scout. I've never wanted him to go on a killing spree like in Injustice, but I've always wanted him to get back at disgusting people, specially bullies. This scene has fulfilled a dream of mine. Eternal respect to Christopher Reeve, but this Superman, script-wise, is my favorite.

Holy shit the people around you should be terrified of you - your dream to see someone have their entire livelihood destroyed over them being a douchebag in a bar? Seriously? That is a very fucked up dream and there is no world in which anyone should act this way, let alone Superman. There is nothing _super_ about this, nothing at all.

@@ross-carlson I never said he should do exactly what he did on this scene. What can't happen is for a superhero to act on some things and don't act on others he considers "less damaging". Yes, I want to see bullies get f****, because I've been a victim of bullying for a huge part of my life and that's caused too many issues in my life, specially psychologically; issues that have lasted to this day. And then you say people should be terrified of me? Just wake up. It's this kind of misdirecting of blame that keeps bullying happening. You should be ashamed, really.

Right, and how did he respond? By DESTROYING a man's business/company/income - that is NOT in any way how anyone should respond to something like this. You either just walk away or you walk away and call the police, as if it's bad enough they should be prosecuted. What you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT DO is vandalize someone's property which, in this case, is likely devastating for this guy. So no, this isn't great, it isn't "powerful" - it's incredibly childish, selfish and is NOT AT ALL how Superman would react.
